Hey Keke,

IQ is calculated by determining someones mental age, and dividing by their actual age (time 100). If your mental age is the same as your actual age, they you have IQ of 100.

So if a 3 year old was doing High School mental age work, (18 yr old), the IQ would be 600. Just theoretically speaking. I know no one has done that. But you asked what the highest is that anyone can get. There is not a limit, except that our physiology predetermines.

There have been special IQ tests designed that were intended to measure at least 260. There are some high-IQ societies that won't admit members with a score of LESS than this! Here's an interesting chart to look at, which also compares scores on some common tests:

I think I read about someone who had a 210!

Marilyn vos Savant (born Marilyn Mach on August 11, 1946) is an American magazine columnist, author, lecturer, and playwright who rose to fame through her listing in the Guinness Book of World Records under "Highest IQ". Since 1986 she has written Ask Marilyn, a Sunday column in Parade magazine in which she answers questions from readers on a variety of subjects.

I made up one IQ test in which I got a score of 420, but two guys at work said that's preposterous. The standard tests are all skewed and biased against my type, so I always make my own, but apparently that's not valid. Oh well.

It is a finite answer. It will not go on endlessly. It also depends on what IQ test you take. It is not all the same. It also depends on what age you take the test. 200 is the high level for students who are under 12 years old. There is one set of test for college students that can go to 288. I am sure there are others that go higher then that. But it depends on the test.

its around 210! - or at least thats the highests that been tested for.

"Normally, it is never set above 210. However, highest possible scores to date should lie in the interval 210-220 with decreasing probability."
