Those people had Days of warning to evacuate, why in the hell did they stick around. And why should I help pay to rebuild their homes. My home was flooded in 1996 but no one helped me because it wasnt a wide spread disaster, just about 100 homes. What makes the difference. My insurance didnt cover anything and it all came out of my own pocket... im not blaming the government, i dont expect a hand out... why should they????

because people always want something for nothing. It was very terrible what happen but from what I understand New Orleans was not the worst hit, some of those other towns in Mississippi were way worse. I don't see those ppl whinning anywhere...they are quietly trying to get their life back together.
Did you see some of the things bought w/those bank cards the Red Cross gave out? Strippers, beer, $150 shoes....that is your answer right there. You have no home nothing and you spend the money that was given to you to buy food, NECESSARY clothing, and housing and then use it to buy materlistic crap. That is the mentality your dealing with.
My biggest shock as it was happening is the ppl wouldn't leave, but they were quick to get to wal-mart and steal tv's, toys, and whatever...I kept thinking "you freakin retards you have no house, the town is flooding but your just worried about getting 'yours' Where you gonna plug that plasma tv in when you have no electicity" Come on STUPID!

For absolutely everyone to declare they hate the 9/11 victims for "Complaining", has no emotion or ought to care much less with reference to the lives lost that day. If one among you kin died does not you artwork to be sure each and all of the solutions you elect? of course 9/11 became a conspiracy, so why no longer *****? Glenn Beck is a few enjoying cards shy of a finished deck these days and would close up himself and end being so hateful.

Because their government has conditioned them to believe they are worthless and cannot get a job or help themselves in anyway. The government has done this through unregulated welfare and foodstamps. These people won't run when the government says run they'll wait for a bus to drive to their door and pick them up.

My thinking is that NO, La should be abandoned. It is not a valuable seaport anymore and it is below sea level, how dumb is it to build something below sea level.

You're right. To me now it seems like the people in New Orleans want to start some fight about how no one helped them because of racial issues. My advice to Katrina victims is to pack up, move out, and get a job. Then you wont have to depend on the government.

You are a completely unaware of the suffering that is going on there. I recently returned from volunteering in Mississippi in june and the devastation there is unbeleivable. You cant be serious.
