I am a teacher fishing for all sort of vocational comments, suggestions, etc with which I can expose my students to a variety of career paths. I hope to get some first hand experiences here.
What would you say to middle school aspirant of cosmotology?
How should they prepare academically?
Any other suggestions?

yes i am. some will depend on what state you live in and what their cosmetology laws are. you have to be a people person. love being around people, meeting and talking to new people on a daily basis. there is a great deal of constantly furthering your education in this business. you need to go to hair shows, classes, etc. to know what the new cool trend is. there is also a lot more to cosmetology than just hair and makeup. you will also be learning anatomy, body systems, chemistry, chemical equations, electricity, etc.
