Congratulations - wear something smart, when you get there be ultra polite and never sit around doing nothing too long.. (that gets noticed..) if you are sitting like a spare part - ask someone if there is anything they would like you to do.. for the next few weeks just be polite and wait to be drawn more into the office clique.. those who go in straight away with a cocky attitude rarely last the distance.
Sounds like your shyness and anti-social tendancies could stem from a lack of self esteem - only you know why that is - hang up about the way you look, feeling not as smart as other people or whatever..
Regardless of the reason, use your new job as the starting point for working on that too. Life is too short to be introverted and feeling low.
Wishing you lots of luck,
L

First of all, they hired you, so accept that they want you. Next, no one expects you to be perfect the first day. You WILL make mistakes, Accept that and move on.
If they had a dress code, they would tell you. Did you see what other people in the company were wearing? Especially those in your part of the company? Dress to blend in.
Above all, be yourself. You have nothing to prove. You have been hired, so you have a right to be there, let no one say otherwise.
Do not let yourself get pressured or bullied. Be wise and do not take everything you are told as being true. There have been many people sent out to get sjky hooks, polka dot paint and refills for hole punchers.
Be quick to take an interest in your colleagues. Maybe make them some drinks. It is an easy way to befirend someone.
Listen, listen, listen. Think. Then talk. Ask other people about themselves, but share about yourself only when asked, and briefly. People will find you interesting because you take an interest.
Try not to get annoyed or frustrated when mistakes happen, as they will. Learn and move on. Be merciful and forgiving if people upset or offend you. They do not know you, so give them a chance.

It's important to wear clothing that is similar to those worn by other workers at that company...and you didn't mention any country, company, industry, or type of job...so, it would be pretty difficult to advise. In the US, a male office worker would normally wear a button-down shirt (clean, usually white) with a t-shirt (no bold colors or logos) underneath...with a pair of dark-colored slacks and a matching belt. A woman can't go wrong with a similar outfit, just cut for a woman...with slacks or skirt (mid-leg, to be conservative), a nice light-colored blouse and appropriate undergarments. Again, this is just an idea, assuming you have no idea what anyone there wears...if you interviewed there, you should have checked that out. And, if you're going to be doing construction work...this would be totally unappropriated...unless you're the foreman! Good luck and chill...:)

Did you see how everyone else at the company dressed? Then dress the same, but just a little bit nicer.
Have all your clothes and stuff ready today so you don't have to worry about it in the morning.
The first day of work is usually the easiest- they don't expect anything from your for the first few days, they know you're the newbie!. Think of it as your just going on a tour of the company for the first day - and get it into your mind that they don't expect you to run the place.
You'll do fine, and have fun with it. Hold your head up and smile a lot.

Congrats!!!! Good job!!!! Just remember that they picked you! That will keep your confidence up!
Go over and introduce yourself to people even if you feel shy. Try not to let that shy feeling rule ya. I know it can be hard but the more you exercise your people skills it will become easier! Just remember that your worth knowing!
Hmmm, what to wear. Your environment will dictate the type of dress but no matter the type of dress try to express yourself. Lets say you have to dress business professional, well then wear a snappy pair of shoes or a cool hair thingy or a scarf that you really love. Remember your clothes can show people aspects of your personality!
You'll do great!

For an office job, you can't really go wrong in a suit or a shirt and tie. For a building job or other physical environment, a poloshirt and jeans should do.
Of course, when you went for interview, you would have scoped out the employer beforehand to get an idea of their dress style, and that will answer your question.

Depends on the job that you are doing, shy or not shy first impressions will last, and as much as we say never judge a book by its cover, it is the way of the world.
Without knowing what job it is you are doing I am not sure what to advise you on what you should wear,

Wear something business causal. Your first impressions will only be given once chance. Feeling nervous is natural try to find something today to occupy your self with. And most importantly get a good night sleep tonight. Good luck.

You should dress just like the other people were dressed when you were there for the interview. Wear something that you can be comfortable in and be yourself. They hired you for yourself so give them what they want! You must have impressed them enough to get the job. Have a little more faith in yourself! Knock them out with your capability!

If you are working in an office wear a nice pair of dress slacks and business casual shirt.
Try to be friendly, patient and a little out going. Don't let the girls/guys intimidate you........just be yourself and I'm sure will love you!
Good Luck
