It has 20 inch wheels on it and a heavy subwoofer box and the battery in the trunk which makes the rear tires rub. I've got these rubber things called coil spring stabilizers that you're supposed to just stick in between the coils of the spring. Are they safe? Can they be used on a 2006 malibu?

They're not likely to be unsafe - worst that can happen is that they may fall out and put you back where you started. Still, you may want to try and see if you can tweak the fenderwells gently with a sledgehammer to get more clearance, depending on where it's rubbing.

I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THE USE OF THE SPACERS THEY DONT LET THE SRING MOVE RIGHT PLUS THE 06 MALIBU HAS REAR STRUTS SO IT WOULD BE A REALLY ROUGH RIDE
