It means you can't use passes. You have to buy a ticket. Some theaters give out passes to some people (like their vendors or suppliers among others), but for certain films, especially ones they expect to be very popular, they don't allow passes to be used for admission.

I think it would mean if you have free passes, that they're not accepting them for a certain movie. Usually this is when it's a really hot new release. In the very beginning they want to show every single dollar from the moment the movie is released. Because of this, they won't accept any passes at least until the movie has been out for a week or two.
However, ask where you see it posted! Then you'll know for sure!

Sometimes you can get what they call movie passes, which are basically a coupon. A lot of times, these movie passes give you the matinee price at a regular time. If a movie is new or really popular, a lot of theaters won't let you use the pass on that particular movie.

Regal cinemas has that program where you make points for seeing movies and then they give you a free ticket or popcorn or a drink if you get enough points. That free ticket would not be usable to get you into the no-pass movies. Usually no-pass movies are the ones that just opened and everybody wants to see. When they have been out a few weeks then they allow passes.

Just like you were told previously, if you received free movie passes from someone or a company, that theater isn't accepting them. If you have some, look at them and see if it tells you where you can use them or call around in your area, to find a theater that will accept them.

The theater is not accepting coupons, or free passes offerred from other promotions. They do this on what are called first run movies, such as new releases, or the leading films at the box office. Gift certificates, and most passes direct from the studos work, but coupons and complimentary passes from the theater are not accepted.

It really means that if you have bought discount movie passes they cannot be used for this movie. Usually, it is stated "no passes" the first few weeks of the opening of a new movie.

It means you can not use a "free pass" for that movie. In other words you have to pay full price to see that movie, they will not accept anyt discount tickets.
