I have just found out that I am pregnant but I am experiencing some pain on my ovaries. It's very mild, but it's there and I am a little worried. It's not severe, at times it feels like a small sharp pain, and other times it feels like cramps or pressure for a few seconds. Is this normal, or should I be concerned??

You probably just have cramps, it's normal to feel some pain. I would suggest talking to your doctor. Your doctor will be able to tell you what exactly is going on and what to do about it.

Actually in my experience its very normal. My doctor told me cramps are normal in the first few months of pregnancy. Just drink LOTS AND LOTS of water. Water helps to releave the cramping. I was very concerned because I had some dark blood and a very mild cramping...my doctor told me this happens with lots of woman. usually because your placenta is attaching to the walls....I would suggest just to make sure you drink a very high amount of liquids....Juice(like apple) and water are the best that you can drink...especially during the summer months. If you ever feel more than just suspicious about the cramps and pains...call you doctor. Always better to be safe than sorry. Congratulations and Enjoy your little bundle of joy!

That's actually how I found out I was pregnant with the first one. I had cramps all the time. Not anything bad but just every day for the first 1-2 months. My doctor said it was from things trying to move around and prepare for the enlarging uterus. As long as it doesn't start getting a steady rhythm like would be contractions, you should be ok. Congrats!!

I had this same experience during my third pregnancy, only worse. I was shocked at what my dr told me. Apparantly, a side effect of pregnancy are small cysts on or near the ovaries and uterus. Every woman gets them, put few develope complications or pain from them. When the liquid from these cysts leaks it can cause pain, in my case on of those cysts burst and i ended up in the ER in severe pain. I would talk to your dr. about it, they may need to monitor them or do a sonogram to make sure that is the problem.

While pregnant, it's normal to feel slight pains and cramps. Your body is changing and really won't be your own for nine more months. However, every pregnancy is different. Always err on the side of caution and call your OB/GYN with anything you feel that is concerning. Either she or one of the nurses should be able to help you.

Best of luck with your little one!

Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting". It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

You are doing like I did at first. I worried about every little thing that I felt in my stomach. My mom is a nurse in the labor and delivery and she told me to stop worrying so much. She then asked me, (sarcastically) does your uterus stretch when your baby is growing and I said yes she said okay then don't you think your going to feel it stretch every once and a while? I'm not going to tell you for sure that its normal but it sounds normal. My mom told me to write everything down and when I see the doctor to tell him everything just to be safe.

It could be implantation cramps. I had those. They are mild but sometimes sharp. Is there any bleeding?

I think it's normal, but you should check with your doctor just to be sure. I had pain too & my baby is fine.
