In general I would say it shouldn't be a problem. I think that it also depends on where you come from and how good you are at adapting. Norway needs doctors esp. in the north and in the districts. In those areas there are fewer immigrants and you might meet somee discrimination. But its quite easy to come over, as soon as they know you it will change. In some areas there are up to 40% of immigrants from non-western countries. in other areas less than 1%. All speak English. I know some think Norwegians are unfriendly, but its because Norwegians don't go around smiling and when you know someone you will soon find they are nice and tolerant. It is a peaceful country with lots of things to see and do. To be a doctor in Norway you need a language test and approval of education. There are som on-line learning possibilities, use yahoo search. Good luck and welcome.

Norwegian wood? Immigrant song? No longer is there Norwegian ancestry, perhaps only an improved major foreign populace. The world changes fast, sorry you'll have to make your own brand of verse. I've no language skills to speak of, if at all answering ability. Only foreign fur-balls!

i have been to Norway alot over the years and found most of the people to be quite friendly but the swedes are much nicer as the Norwegians can be a little snobby sometimes. if you're a doctor tho' i'm sure you'll fit in well.
