So, what's your question? Actually, our oldest records of fighting in the Middle East go back to the founding of Eridu, one of the first cities in Mesopotamia (now in modern-day Iraq). Once this ancient Sumerian city (one of the first cities we know of in a river valley) began to grow, probably ca. 4000 BC, surrounding tribesmen attacked it. Records show that they were likely absorbed into the agrarian population, along with groups of fishermen. Later (3000-4000 BC), the Sumerian power center shifted to two warring states to the north, Umma and Lagash (which also fought with the Elamites and the state of Kish). Finally, they were conquered by Sargon of Akkad.
The rest of Middle-Eastern history looks basically the same. After Sargon, wars were fought over this area by the Sumerians, the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Aryans, the Egyptians, the Hittites, the Hebrews, the Medeans, the Persians, the Macedonians, the Arabs, the Romans, the Muslims, the Crusaders, the Turks, the British, the Israelis and the Americans.
But, I am confident that in the next two and a half years, Bush and cronies can overcome a 6000-year history of major and minor conflicts. It seems so reasonable. Right.

The only reason you have a right to say what you want and the rights that you have is because over 250 years ago our fore fathers started a war. You like hanging out with your friends, going to movies, maybe you have a boyfriend/girlfriend and you do a ton of stuff together, go to the shopping mall, wear what you think is cool, have BBQ's, and go camping etc... don't ever say war didn't solve a thing, the only reason your here right now is because someone started one. Your probably right, peace may never happen there, who knows? But maybe out of all those things i mentioned, there might be an Iraqi boy or girl who would like to do the same. Just because you were born and/or live here and you have all those things doesn't mean you should be selfish about it and deny to other people who may want it. What if you were Iraqi and you were born there and everyday people were shot at random or raped and murdered, living everyday in fear. Heck, here we go to bonfires, the closest thing they have had there are their neighbors shot and dragged out to the middle of the street and set on fire!!(I'm exaggerating, but you get my point.) Don't kid yourself there are evil people out there, ones who will not negotiate or cooperate, like these terrorists. Sometimes war is the only answer. Peace may never reign there, but at least ill know that we gave a damn to try.

War, although not desirable, is sometimes a necessary means of obtaining freedom and equal rights which is ALSO a basis for which Dr. King made several of his speeches. No one likes war and I agree that President Bush got into this war needlessly and without proper reasoning however, the American Revolution made our country what it is today, without war we would all be marching under a SWASTIKA vs. the American flag because had we not stood up to Adolph hitler and his band of lunatics by the means of WORLD WAR then we would all be speaking German and have NO FREEDOM whatsoever. So by saying 'war is retarded' you are also saying that allowing one to have freedom is retarded. and that is a statement with which i disagree...and furthermore if a man were to walk up to you and belt you a good one right in the face ....what would your response be? and beyond even that......are you saying that we should just say "oh well...so we lost over 3000 lives in our own country and should stand back and tell the world....we're not going to do anything about it...so come on do it to us again??? THAT to me is RETARDED.....sorry no offense intended...but YOU ARE the one who chose that particular word

You are such a silly liberal. You all contradict yourselves and defeat your own arguments! You are implying that Bush and the US, or any other country for that matter, are cronies for defending themselves against terrorism! How are they to achieve peace with people that cannot understand anything but hate and violence. They are like rabid dogs that need to be put down! And you really shouldn't use MLK as a reference- had he not stood up and defended human rights against terror, ignorance and violence (sound familiar?) things would be different - and by the way, his enemies still killed him because people that do not want to live in peace never will!!!
**And, by the way - maybe you shouldn't say that war never solved anything - the Japanese may be just slightly offended by that considering that dropping a nuke on them changed their entire society and put them at peace with us.

Okay, so you are probably too young to understand what is going on over there so I will put it in your terms.
What if someone wanted to have your bedroom. They would barge in and you would try to push them out. Then they still where able to get in. What would you do? You can't toss them out or hit them because that would be "war". Should you just let them into your room...pull up a desk and another bed and say hey roomie. You probaby wouldn't like that if someone did that. Now put that in a much grander scale and you have wars that is going on in the middle east.

Wars have solved issues before, America wouldn't be America without war. I will agree that wars don't always solve issues, but it is in human nature to fight and we will probably never get around that. War is something that human kind has dealt with forever and nothing is going to change that.

No intelligent person wants to go to war. However, your assertion that "war will never solve a single issue" is incorrect.
There are causes worth fighting and dieing for. Freedom is not free.

there will always be war no matter how much people want to stop it. in each and every generation, there will be a person like napolean, hitler, bush, etc. who will make up some excuse to start a war and make it seem like the right thing to do. so no matter how much you people complain, and argue about how war sucks and stuff, fact is, there will always be war
