cancers tend to be very soft spoken and very emotional, as a cancer myself I do not have the ability to emot, I try, but maybe it's in my ideology to keep myself resereved.

No that's not true I've been with 2 cancers and let me tell you they both were a pain in the ***. Well the last one is really the jerk but i' still in love with him. He wasn't emotional at all. He's a real non-sealant type of guy.

My husband is a Cancer and he is a wonderful mate. CAring, giving, funny, unpredictable, but also a good cook and good with his hands (uh - don't be naughty - I mean re: construction.) hhahaa. Okay, if truth be told, he is a generous and loving lover too! You know, come to think of it, he is a really amazing person. He is intuitive, a good judge of character, empathatic but also very macho in other ways. But the BEST quality - he is VERY funny. Helps keeps things light when life gets serious. Go for it! I like the quality you mentioned, that he keeps alot to himself. Your loved ones learn to "read" your moods over time. As for your guy, you are inquiring about a very unique personality type in a man. Esp. if he was raised by a loving mother/mother figure.

Well...I was in a 4 year relationship with a Cancer and he was extremely sensitive and got to the point that he was abusive. He was not emotional in the traditional sense (crying,etc) but he was definately touchy.
Besides, your sun sign doesn't mean much. You really need a birth chart to determine your true personality.

I'm married to a cancer man and I have a cancer son. I think cancers are great , they are Loyal and loving very emotional and they do hold family and friends very close to there hearts . you need to constantly encourage a cancer and always reassuring that you love them.

i am in some sort of r/ship with this cancer guy.
he is the most sweetest, loveliest, kindest guy i have ever met.
but hard to see him these days, with him working shifts and helping his friends...
he does help a lot of people...is that in a cancer's nature?
anyway, like in any r/ship...star signs might be a small deciding factor...but all in all...if no personality clashes and if both parties willing to compromise, i'd say it would work.

I LOVE 'em. Then again, I'm a Scorpio, so they're my most compatible sign.
Overall, it would totally depend on your sign and what your compatible signs are. For me, the absolute worst is a Gemini. I promise you , if I were to meet an amazing man, and he told me he was a Gemini, I'd break it off immediately. I'm serious!
My son is a Gemini, I love him to death, but putting a Gemini and a Scorpio together is like fire and gasoline.
For me, bring on those Cancer guys....yummmy!
