Get an umbrella that is big enough to cover 10 people.

It's easy to not get wet at all doing this, even if it's coming down cats and dogs. You stay inside the house while the 10 idiots (sorry, volunteers!) try to balance on each other's shoulders and then pass up the umbrella to the top one.
They don't actually need the umbrella doing it this way, because by the time they've all got into position they be thoroughly wet through. It might break the fall of the top guy as he plummets from approximately 45 feet up, but I don't think it'll matter too much as the one below him will probably end up landing on him (I assume only guys would be daft enough to try this, but hell, I'm not sexist. Even women can be really stupid too in this equal ops world and they'll be more used to using umbrellas at altitude. Mary Poppins certainly was)

If I used a shotgun to make ten people stand under one umbrella I could remain in the doorway "and not get wet at all."

Have the people stand on a 10 foot ladder with the umbrella held by the top man or woman.

A. put them under it when it's not raining
b. open the umbrella indoors (bad luck isn't so bad) and them have them stand under it.
C. make sure some of the people are small/ babies etc. so people can hold them
D. get a huge umbrella!
