Why do all superheroes secret identities have to be some poor guy who can barely pay the rent???

I mean look at spiderman he has a hard life, superman is ok but not wow.

They must all be jelous of Batman/Bruce Wayne.
He is a super rich guy that sleeps all the time with super models, I mean that's some pretty easy life. ( I think it is because he does't have any superpowers)

I guess they equate "rich" with "powerful" and no power as poor.
Also, having the poor alter-ego allows the superhero to be accessible to the average reader. I mean, if they had rich alter-egos, I'd want the villan to win.
In terms of writing, it's a more dramatic transition and a greater challenge to keep that secret identity charade up.

There is also Tony Starks- Iron man
he is rich too

and Daredevil, he doesnt look rich, but we know he is...come on a lawyer.

Bruce Banner- the hulk, he might not be, but in real life he would be, he is a scientist

so, we also have our popular, well established heroes.
