Seems like so many STUPID questions are asked and I wonder if it's just the "game" they are playing for points? Just curious :)

AHH I see now. It was not a "theory" I was seriously curious. I had no idea you lost points, I just notice so many weird/rude/bad questions.

Asking questions actually deduct points (-5). At best, you can make up for 4 points by choosing the best answer and rating it. So if the goal is to get more points, you should answer questions, not ask them.
This is actually not ideal, because I do want to ask questions. But I don't want to give up the points I've earned. I would think Yahoo would want to encourage all forms of participation, and punishing those asking questions doesn't make sense.

I really doubt anyone would be asking questions for points because you lose points when you ask questions. People ask stupid questions to get a rise out if people like you. This question is playing into them and therefor just as stupid as theirs.

u dont get points for asking questions u get points for answering questions but if u ask a question u lose 5 points but i do answer questions for points
