Do umbrellas really keep you any drier than not having one at all?

Okay, I mean you have to get them out, then shake them off before getting into the car, and then alot of the time the rain is accompanied by a little wind., so you end up wet anyway. I quess I just don't see the point. So please tell me if you get wetter with or without the umbrella in the rain.

Before you get out of the car, crack your door open and stick the umbrella out and open it.

That will keep you dryer than not using one at all.

Of course you would get wetter without the umberella.

Well they definatly keep you drier. If you are standing still you will be especially drier than if you were to walk around with it. I dont see how you can question the use of an umbrella...next time it is raining stand outside for 10 minutes with the umbrella over your head, go inside look in the mirror, gauge how wet you are, dry off even? then go back outside and do it without the umbrella...compare I think you'll then understand all the crazy physics and craftsman ship that went into this incredibly complicated device.....

Actually, it does keep you dry unless your in a severe storm with strong winds to make the rain go sideways and thus making the umbrella useless.

I think you get wetter without the umbrella. You'll get soaked without one!

I will try to answer your question.The way it is presented,I would have to assume that it is pouring rain,so yes,you would still get wet.If it is only sprinkling,you would not.But,if you didn't have one,you would get very wet.Hope this helps.

erm, tito. if theres a severe storm. u tink ppl wud get outside? they wud take a taxi hm or smth or jus stay indoors..
