She's doing it to protect you. Stop being a spoiled brat. If you're not doing anything wrong, what are you afraid of?

Well, if you are running Windows XP you can set a password to log onto your computer. Click on start > control panel> user accounts>add a password.

The logs however are in your temporary internet files. If you are using IE click on tools>internet options> delete temporary internet files. The logs can also be deleted using a popular anti-spyware program - AdAware.

In order to keep all your bases covered, you should install a program. I recommend Adaware SE Personal by Lavasoft. Also easy to install, update, and run, Adaware will easily mop up anything that Spybot doesn't cover.
Adaware's focus is on completeness. Lavasoft really wants to get all the adware and spyware off your computer, and they use very aggressive scanning to get the job done. They feel that your privacy is worth a few false positives. The result is a very through scan of your computer. Just make sure you look the list of files it identifies over for false positives or you may loose access to a file you actually wanted.

Once you install that, run a full scan. You will probably find critical objects which are cookies which also contain sites that you visited. Under negliable objects, it will be the logs. Check all of them ( or right click select all) and click next. It will delete it . Hope i wass able to help.

Your mother is probably using a keylogger program which will indeed allow her to see everything your doing on the machine. Sorry can't tell you how to remove it because they are stealthy and each one is different. Plus if you are a minor I believe your mother has a right to monitor what you are doing while on the computer.

Meetloph: I think you need to expand your knowledge more. Because I am sure from your post that you do not know everything about computers. Further, I have been in the business for more than 10 years, and I can tell you that no one knows everything there is to know.

First of all, consider the possibilty that she is bluffing; unless she has confronted you with specifics, she may simply be testing you. This was a trick my mom used to love to use.

If she is not bluffing, I would try talking to her about privacy. Tell her that you are trustworthy and that you know the safe perameters on the internet. Bluff and tell her you could hide your web activity if you wanted, but you don't because you arn't doing anything wrong. Still, no one likes their personal conversations (via email or phone or whatever) monitored. That is spying.

If that doesn't work, try coding your emails in wingdings...write the email in Microsoft word, change the font to Wingdings, copy and paste into the email, and VOILA! Make sure you tell your friends in advance (and NOT through email) that they will need to decode your messages by copying and pasting them into Microsoft word...it will be like a secret language.

It is not possible to trace after deleting the History. Also delete the Temporary Internet Files.

Open Internet Explorer- Click on Tools- Internet Options. The Internet Options Window should pop-up.
Click on “Delete Cookies”- Click on OK.
Click on Delete Files- Select the option “Delete all offline content”- Click on OK.
Click on OK which is at the lower of the window to close the “Internet Options”

I know you won't like this answer, but while still living with your parnets your computer is their property. I am glad that your mom loves you enough to try and keep you safe from jerks on the inter net. I know you probably don't believe this but all kinds of people are out there looking for easty prey. So feel good that mom cares. don't go to any web-sites that you shouldn't, so that why you won't have to worry about someone finding where you've been. Take care.

1. Go here and dload the trial version: http://www.kaspersky.com/ I want you to run it just to make sure your mom hasn't placed a Key logger type program in the computer. That's a program that keeps the logs of EVERYTHING you type, websites you visit, places you email and even could keep instant message logs

2. Go here: http://www.iolo.com/sm/ and get the trial version as well. It's one of the best ones out to delete private data.

Stop doing whatever it is your not supposed to be doing. Then you won't have to worry.
She has a right to make sure you are safe. That is her job.
Yes, there is a log she can check. She can also sign up to get the log sent directly to her e-mail.
I know, I know..You are so very grown up and it's, like, totally not fair that she cares about you.
When you are 18, move out, support yourself, then she won't be able to keep tabs on you.

well mmy guess is that she probably installed a keylogger or some other sort of logger. what you should do is install a key logger (google to find one or download one with limewire).

Once you install the key logger you leave your computer unattended for your mother to check her logger.

She will have some sort of key stroke combination or password to open it up.

Once she does that you will have the means of accessing her logger and either deleting it or disableing it.

Good luck. And I disagree with most of the people here, I don't think you're doing anything bad, I just see that you want your privacy.

If you're running on Windows XP (Which I suspect you are) your Mom has probably set you up with a monitiered account. It would be very difficult to shut this down. (And the functions are probably password protected) and even if you did, your mom would find out easily.

Just don't do anything to raise suspicion, and maybe she will trust you enough to let you go unmonitered.

Look for a plug that is attached between the keyboard and the port on the computer. It might look like a colored barrel...if its there it is a key catcher and is storing your key strokes. Also there could be key logging software on the computer. Try running ad-aware or spybots and see if it finds one in memory.
