That'll vary depending on the school he went to and his philosophy. Generally, you will be X-rayed to make sure there's nothing wrong that can be made worse by physical manipulation. Then you will be evaluated for mechanical and muscular movements. The usual health questionaire. Possibly advice about vitamins and minerals. Possibly TENS treatment (electrostimulation to relax the muscles) Then you'll be put onto a chiropractic table. It might be a fully mechanical monster that you walk onto, then it brings you down for work, and breaks away under manipulation, or just a flat, padded table. Either way, the chiropractor will straighten your spine using physical manipulation. Most problems can be resolved in about 2-3 months, although once you learn about him, you'll want to get other treatments. I usually like to go at least once a year, just to be safe.
Yes, the human body usually aligns itself under NORMAL circumstances. But once the body gets used to being in the wrong position, it needs to be retrained as to what is normal. Chiropractic is NOT a waste! It is a viable alternative to dangerous back surgery, and it has been accepted more and more by MD's over the years.

This question has been asked by millions of unsuspecting folks who end up forking over good money to so-called doctors for the sake of having their back cracked. It is remarkable that everyone's spine is out of alignment, and that several costly sessions will be required to make it right. In no other situation can it be truer that there is a sucker born every minute.
