thanks scoot, i eat them all the time!! nothing better than curry sauce mate! americans look at me like i'm an idiot when i mention this fabulous contraction, and i always have to say "just wait, reserve judgement and wait" they can't believe they sell em in the school cafateria's haha!

Has to be white bread, thick butter, ketchup and chip shop chips, fat and greasy!!

A chip butty is one of the best thing on the planet. It's a type of sandwich that we eat a lot in Scotland. (I'm not sure if it's popular anywhere else).
You take two pieces if bread, then you fry they very slightly. Spread some butter on the bread. You then cook some chips and place them in between the bread slices. You could then add your favourite sauce or perhaps some cheese or maybe some beetroot. Then you eat it.
It is so delicious and you must try it. I would advise you to use curry sauce and lots of beetroot. I think I might go and make one now actually.

Buttie or Butty is slang for sandwich. So...it's a chip (french fries) sandwich...mmmmmmmmmmhhhhhh!! Nice with salty butter and ketchup
