You need an indictable criminal offense to initiate impeachment hearings.

It does seem that, since the Clinton impeachment scandal, that the concept of impeachment has been trivialized due to the manipulative way in which the Clinton impeachment was arranged. It would seem that, however, a party populated with more lawyers is aware that frivolous impeachment hearings would be politically dangerous. Once again proof that in the political playing field it appears that the Republican party is allowed to play dirty while the Democrats look weak. It pisses off their supporters, but I suspect that, if there were convincing grounds for impeachment of Bush, the Democrats would have taken advantage of that situation a long time ago.

And the rhetoric continues. You need to stop walking in lock-step with Howard Dean. Did you listen to him yesterday? You must have. If you had half of a brain, you would know that the Dems are full of rhetoric BS. They were supposed to come out with a "plan for America" in EARLY 2006. Then yesterday, Harry Reed comes out and says "we'll have a plan in August." And then Nancy the retard Pelosi starts running a bulleted list of "things the Democrats are united and will work on for the citizens of the US." Then she ran down a long repeated list of "healthcare, social security, crime, etc." I mean come one. You buy into this crap?

BY THE WAY. DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT "IMPEACH" MEANS? WHAT LAW WAS BROKEN OR ILLEGAL ACTION HAS BEEN DONE BY THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION TO WARRANT IMPEACHMENT?

All you libs do is call for 'impeachment'! 'Impeach him!' Impeach impeach impeach!

Shut the h3ll up.

You could say he pushed forth several unconstitutional acts, such as the Patriot Act which goes against the 4th amendment. If Clinton can get impeached for having an affair, why can't we get rid of Bush for breaking the law? Just look at all his phone tapping movements that he pushed for after 911, he’s got to go. Maybe you can say he was going after self interest. His dad sure owns a lot of oil in TX. What’s a better way to increase gas than to invade the 2nd largest oil producing nation in the world and then cutting their output significantly. Then pissing of the King of Saudi Arabia always helps raise oil prices as well. To me, that's a lot worse than the Lewinsky Scandal.

Well, I was going to start talking about only being able to
impeach for "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" and the
obvious one about perjuring himself in front of Congress
for saying that we KNEW that Iraq had weapons of
mass destruction ...

But I like "War crimes" (as above) better. His administration
sanctioned the non-controlled interogations of Abu-Graib
despite the best scientific evidence of what would happen
(Milgram, etc).

Certainly ignoring the Geneva conventions to the certain
death of certain people could at least begin to constitute
a war crime.

However, you're never going to get impeachment through
a friendly House of Representitives.

When the 2006 election happens - ask yourself, did the
people who supported Bush and his war KNOWINGLY
act for political reasons (party unity) or were they honestly
trying to do the best thing for the world based on
poor intelligence from the White House.

If you think they were acting out of party unity, get 'em
out and remove his support base.

Remember, the Constitution gives the Congress the power
to control the budget - and he can't fight a war with no money.

I'm not saying we should pull out immediately - we caused
the current situation - we need to take responsibility for it.

However, we can at least act with research and accountability
instead of trying to save face and protect a political party.

It is so funny the way you conservatives are saying that he hasn't committed any impeachable offenses and are whining because some of us (moderates included) are sick of his administration's bullsh*t. You idiots were all about impeaching Clinton when he did a lot less. Here is a link in case you have forgotten some of the stuff that has happened. This is 34 items just from the first four years of his term.

I hate Bush, but what would be your reason? We need to get out of the practice of talking about impeaching Presidents. It's stupid, and it makes you sound juvenile. The Clinton impeaching crap was so ridiculous, every Republican in Washington stopped doing their jobs and focussed on the impeachment. You want to do something, tell your friends to vote and tell them to tell their friends to vote. That way we don't elect someone like Bush again. Until then, you can complain about what he does but don't talk about impeaching him please. It makes non-Republicans look juvenile and immature.

What has he done that is impeachable? Not what Air America or the NY Times told you, but what has he really done? I didn't think so. Next!

Edit
I love the Clinton did less. How about lying to a Grand Jury? That's called perjury. What color is the sky in your world?

For what? Doing the job that the Clintons failed to do. At least he is doing something while in office instead of sitting there with his head in the sand or paying our enemies to build an empire of hate towards us. Liberals tend to only know bullet points that the DNC preaches and very little facts about the world at large. It confuses me that there is such passion behind ignorance. The more you truely know the more you will become conservative in politics.
