I have been disconnected from the newspapers, TV, and Internet for three weeks, and all of a suddent there's something huge going on with Hezzbolla and Isreal. It so confusing trying to read the latest news when I don't have the background knowledge of what has already happened. So... can anyone clue me in on the basics?

Hez killed 8 Israeli soldiers and kidnapped 2.
That was the last straw broke the the camel's back for Israel b/c they have been attacked by rockets for years.
This time Israel decided to end it for good, so they are smashing the So. Lebanon.
But Hez are so woven into Leb's civilians, the casuality rate is very high.
And to cut off the supply from Syria and Iran, Israel had to bomb airport and bridges and more...

Now that's a short version.

Hope it helps.

For the tone of the main up-tp-date scenario interior the middle east (final a hundred or so years) we are able to shoulder an excellent style of the blame on the British. it quite is to assert the an excellent style of the fault of the Western international in that subject. The U.S. has in actuality picked up the enjoying cards of the Brits and started enjoying their resign the final 30 years. call us an equivalent significant other. as a techniques because of the fact the Arabs themselves circulate properly they have not replaced that lots in 1400 years. Even the Koran itself spells out the viscious and tribal nature of the Arabs as being the main rationalization for the divine intervention of the Koran. curiously it remains a not user-friendly sell in its entirety. Iraq is the pefect occasion of what the middle east grew to become into and often nevertheless is. It took and robust armed despot to regulate those perpetual warring tribes. We took him out and chaos ensued.

A couple of Israeli pilots were kidnapped by Lebanon.

Israel waited *maybe* 6 hours before they decided to attack Lebanon because they didn't immediately return the pilots.

Israel targets bridges, airports, transit routes in Lebanon. Lebanon answers back.

USA supports Israel. Rice goes to area to try to get long term solution.

Stale mate so far.

Lebanon is a strong ally to Iran and has supplied terrorism for a long time. They kind of settled down with the US and quit shooting down airlines and hijacking all the time since we went after them. However there is a group in power there that still does things under the table so to speak. They have been behind a number of things against Israel. Since Iran their ally has threatened to destroy Israel, this has greatly raised tensions. Well the straw that broke the camel's back was Lebanon kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and sent them to Iran. Israel of course dealing with mid-east countries knows that they have to hit fast and hard. That is all their surrounding countries understand. So they invaded and decided to finally break the back of the Lebanese terror organization. This is a strike to halt Iran, Syria and others from continuing with their plans to invade Israel.

Bush in his infinite wisdom has decided to send 30,000 US troops in a UN peace keeping force to end this conflict. So in essence he is going to defend Lebanon against our ally Israel. I believe that Israel will fight whomever stands in their way because the issue is much bigger than just the Hezbollah. They have been doing this for 5000 years and know how to defend themselves. If we interfere we may loose much more than we like. For one thing we have a CIA listening post in Tel Aviv which is vital to watching the middle east. This was the post that Saddam tried to hit with missiles in the gulf war. If we interfere with Israel, they may decide to remove this.

The best thing would be for us to let things play out as they have before many times with Israel. This in the end will help us against groups that want to destroy Israel and the US. We majorly crippled ourselves by taking Saddam out of Iraq. He was a terrible dictator but was an enemy of Iran and others that will prove later to be worse enemies than anyone to the US. I think we made a major mistake by taking on Iraq. Now the majority population of Iraq is the same religious sect as Iran. It does not take a genius to figure out what will happen in the next ten years.

hezbolla kidnapped 2 israeli soldiers and asked for an exchange, so far no civilians on both sides touched. part of the agreement brokered between the 2 in 94.

then israel made a couple of small attacks, bush then appears on tv and says they got the right to defend themselves, and israel said yeah, we got the greenlight from bush to play with our missiles.
result, about 300 dead civilians, i dont know how many hezbola, and about 15 isreali.
score of the game so far: Lebanon 300, israel 15.

Well, Israel claims they are the poor victims of terrorist Hezbollah. And Lebanon claims it is the poor victim of Israel. Hezbollah says they are oppressed by Israel. America says it is helping the Iraqi people. The Iraqi people want America out so the Sunnis, Shites and Kurds can have their own civil war. Iran says they need nukes to protect them from American aggression. Muslims hate America and are joining terrorist organizations to fight because they think America hates them. So everyone is a victim, and everybody wants peace, and everybody is willing to Kill for it.

what is going on is that bush does not know what he is doing and need to get are peolpe out of there and send there peolpe back. One of these people that he is letting come over here is going to start a war over here. I think we should have never when over there in the frist place. The bible does talk about this and that means this is the end times. God is not happy with us.
