War is war. If we are at war with Iraq. Then we should strip that country of ALL of it's assets and make them pay war reparations. That is what victory is. If not then it is not war. It is something else. At this point it just looks like away for a few to make money at the expense of the many. The President has ultimate authority over his under lings. The troops are not well equipped. They do not receive the benefits they were promised before they went to Iraq. They do not have a clear mission while they are in country. When there is no clear objective to victory. Victory will never be attained. This is the fault of the supreme commander. We are in Iraq now. So let us win. Strip that little country of all of it's assets. Make them pay war reparations. If need be kill them all let God sort 'em out. That is what WAR is all about.

Wish for victory however that may look?

I do not believe that any US involvement in Iraq will lead to any kind of victory. I don't see our forces there and think "we should do X to insure victory" or "if we had more or fewer troops, that would bring victory" or even "if we understood a single thing about the country we're in, that might help with victory." There is absolutely no definition of "victory" that is attainable by the presence of US troops in Iraq.

Why? In Iraq, we think we're fighting terrorism. But all the Iraqi people see is an invading and occupying army. They will fight to be free. They will never stop. Even if they're wrong and they're already free, they will never stop. Our presence is the problem.

For the good of our country.

So what exactly are you asking for? Your question makes hardly any sense.

First off you can support the Troops and want to "win" in Iraq without supporting Bush. I have yet to see anybody have any valid point about why Iraq being invaded is good at all for the US. There isn't any way out of Iraq at this point that doesn't involve troop presence in that country for many years to come. I will never stand behind Bush, or give him support. He is doing a extremely bad job on every front, from the debvacle of a war, the other debacle of a war, and the economy, domestic issues, you name it. Not to mention the fact that he most likely cheated to win both of his elections, therefor making his Presidency illegitamate. Why can't you accept that 70% of Americans don't support Bush, and never will, but still love our country and support our troops. It is the standpoint of many that sending troops to an unjust conflict is not supporting the troops but spitting on them, that's the way I see it. From my point of view, Bush by putting our boys in harms way needlessly has shown them no respect.

The question assumes that supporting the war will lead to "victory, however that may look." You're asking your respondents to sign a blank check, and I'm unwilling to do that with this President or any other. I'd be surprised (and disappointed) if you would do so, too.

Rather than work for victory ill-defined, I hope for peace, stability, self-management, and economic well-being for the Iraqi people. Sadly, I have doubts that we can offer these gifts to them. They can only secure them themselves, and at this time, there are too many within Iraq working against those goals.

I don't think there can be "victory" What the hell is victory anyways. Thought we already had a victory when the mission was accomplished.

I really hope for the best in Iraq and no...I don't think we should stand behind the president because he had his chance and obviously doesn't have a clue.

Do you really think it's a win/lose situation? Exactly what happens if we "win?" We've lost thousands of soldiers and many more others have been maimed. The typical United States idea of winning in the Middle East usually means the establishment of a puppet government friendly to our own interests -- not that of it's own people.

I don't think we should stand behind this President. He's wrong. He got us into this mess based upon nothing but a foundation of lies. Why should I support that?

Yeah, just like Vietnam!

Islam survived two centuries of defeats and humiliations of the Ottoman Empire and Ataturk's abolition of the caliphate. It endured generations of Western rule. It outlasted the pro-Western monarchs in Egypt, Iraq, Libya, Ethiopia and Iran. Islam easily fended off communism, survived the rout of Nasserism in 1967 and has proven more enduring than the nationalism of Arafat or Saddam. Now, it is resisting the world's last superpower.

It's not our war, it's Israel's war, they put Dubya up to it.

9 Billion a month for the war not counting the brave Americans loosing their life and limbs, while 30 million Americans (20%) are in poverty. Turning Veterans away from VA hospitals because congress won't come up with 2 Billion dollars for Veterans.

What about America? Richard Armitage, who did four tours in Nam and knows a bit about war, says that, in its ability to attack Western targets, al Qaeda is the B team, Hezbollah the A Team. If Bush bombs Iran, what prevents Hezbollah from launching retaliatory attacks inside the United States?

Flush out you head gear maggot!

I'm not by any means liberal, but I'll answer anyways..

I'd like to see the Iraqi people control their own country and run their own security forces. I'd like to see Iraqi people fixing the power facilities and cleaning the water. I'd like to see the end of the "insurgency" at the hands of Iraqis.
"Supporting the president" is nothing but an empty statement. Do you mean supporting his policies?
My vision of US victory is total Iraqi control of Iraq, and all US troops safe at home.
