I agree that you should sell some of your stuff. I know it's hard to decide what to keep, and what to throw out. Ask yourself if you really can't live without it, then keep it. Have a apartment sale to get rid of the other stuff you are getting rid of. This way you make some money to buy new stuff with. Wait until you see how much room you'll have on campus. Also could a friend or family member store your stuff that you really don't want to part with?

If you love it - keep it. If storage is a problem, a few small boxes in the basement of an aunt or family member should not be a problem. Sounds silly but some of your precious treasures will be the same to your off-spring to. That is how we acquire family treasures. If all is thrown away we have nothing to pass on. Treasures do not have to be monetary, just a well loved article. Take your special thing, put a small note with it telling the story about it and box it up.Mark the outside of the box with your name and the word treasures. Even if you forget about it someone in your family will find it someday. Family treasures have to start somewhere and we all love them.......

I'd of course try to keep the electronics and what not.. but when it comes to furniture I'd measure your room first to see if the furniture will fit in there with enough room to walk around and whatnot first.

And when it comes to selling things I'd look to see how much value it holds to you and how much you paid to get it. Like if it was something cheap and you really don't use it much then I'd sell it. But if it was expensive to try and get and you don't use it often, I'd think about if you'd use it in the future.. and if you won't, then just sell it.

And if you find it hard to sell something then there's always the option of getting a storage room and putting it all in there.. the storages are usually quite reasonable pricing so it won't be that much out of your budget.

I would say that anything you bought before you moved to the apartment can be gotten rid of. You were fine before you had it, right? Have a yard sale or put up a few posters. Heck, use ebay if you have to. Just don't put it in storage. That's extra money for stuff you don't really need.
