I do not hate or condemn Israel, I think they have every right to protect and defend their citizens. Yes this does extend to attacking countries which harbor terrorists. As to the American part of the question, my opinion, and it is only my opinion mind you, is that many of the same people who hate Israel hate America also for what we stand for, and our friendship with Israel. What I can tell you is that it is easy to sit here and condemn Israel because we do not live under the same fear they live with daily. If Americans were being attacked by suicide bombers with the frequency of Israel our response would make Israel's look like a humanitarian relief effort.

I agree with Sarah*, as the entire problem is that of religion. The Jewish people believe they have promised land, but only in the 1990s established themselves in Israel. Prior to that, they had a great history of travelling, as is evident in the victorian Charles Dickens' Great Expectations "wandering like a Jew". The Jewish people have were blamed for starting the plague, and kicked out of England in the 13th century, as well as most of Europe. A more recent problem facing the Jews was the German hatred. #

At the end of WWI, there was a treaty signed called The Treaty of Versailles (1918). This was made by all damaged and war broken European countries (and the USA). They were very harsh on Germany, leaving them with no colonies and very little money. Soon, an economic recession gripped them. The Jews however, were prosperous and happy, as they had established themselves in many German areas. Hitler came to power in 1939, under promises of a better economy and moor jobs for the poor Germans. Hitler decided to blame the Jews, and labelled them as money-grabbing people.

It is common knowledge that the holocaust (killing of Jews) did happen and did kill over 7 million Jews. However, there are some people who believe that the Holocaust was made up by the Jews so they could establish the state of Israel. This is still believed by some people and therefore leads to hatred of Israel and Jews (despite their continual persecution).

They are a Jewish country and that is what all the hate boils down to. Religion. I know people from Israel and they are great people that love thier families and go to work every day. They are not back woods like Iraq, and the Taliban. Their women work just like we do and they can hold high powered jobs too.

Also you must not be from the Greatest country in the world. USA.

The hate stems from the fact that the "state" of isreal is like having a bunch of gypsies turn up on your land, under the impression that they somehow have a right to be there because of their misguided beliefs that are based in distant history. The whole of the middle east is in conflict because EVERYBODY ( all religions..) think they are correct and that "god" is on their side.
Solution???
I think the rest of the world needs to take a REALLY hard line on the lot of them. Maybe it IS time to put them down?
Ironically, solomon would have said " cut it in half right down the middle"
The fact is though, throughout history ALL of the earths religions have made war against eachother. The only logical outcome is that there will be ONE winner when the all out war happens...
Time to pick your side and be prepared??? Im with Blair and Bush.

Because most Americans want an end to Bush's fiasco in Iraq and Israel has escalated the entire situation by their exaggerated and murderous assaults on Lebanon over the kidnapping of 2 soldiers. And I said 'soldiers' not civilians. They even have their children autographing bombs for Lebanese children.

No, they aren't worse than our country, and I don't hate them, but they are tempting fate and pushing the world to a global war and I hate their reckless behavior and Bush's support of it!

Your country used to be the hope of the world oppressed but now under Bush's administration it supports the baby killers of Israel.Just yesterday the British Foreign Minister protested that American planes used British airspace and Prestwick Airport in North of England ( without Britain's consent) to transport laser guided missiles to Israel to kill Lebanese and Palestinian civilians.

I can't Believe you would ask that question. America is the best country in the world. We are tottally different from Isareal. For one we don't have an oppresive government. And our government respects women and equal rights. Pay attention to the facts and not the liberal media who does not report the facts only the bits and pieces they wnat us to hear and the lies that they amke up to feed their twisted agenda.
