when they decide to walk and get in shape, rather that drive 2 block to the store and then walk 200 yard from the parking lot. if more people would start using alternative means of transportation, not the bus which also uses fossil fuel, or stay at home instead of driving around looking for a parking place close to the store or restaurant,

We live in a free market economy, which is based on Supply and Demand. When supply is low and demand is high prices will be high. Bush does not control Supply and Demand. Let's not forget that China and India are consuming huge ammounts of oil and wil soon eclpise the US consumption. We can also solve our own problem by drilling in our own country and using other sources of energy like E-85 or nuclear power..

Yeah lets have a rebllion spead the news arcoss the net and across gas stations. The only thing about having some gas stations closed on some days and open others is if some one wants to take a long trip on a closed gas station day. That idea is still preatty good. We SHOULD rise up and start a petion. on gas stations to lower gas prices. Yeah.

There is nothing wrong with big profits. Big profits will induce companies to invest more.
There is no conspiracy to raise oil prices. They are high because demand has risen. This is mainly because China is growing at 8-11% per year.
Also there have been disruptions in supply, such as the Iraq war.

Ok. 1st, get your facts right.

Oil companies make money off of products other than gas at the pump. On average, oil companies make about 3 to 5 cents net profit per gallon of gas put in your car.

When you are buying gas, you are buying the cost to replace the gas you are consuming, which is why gasoline prices are so violent in the marketplace.

Demand and consumption have risen, so of course revune is going to rise. if I can make a three cent profit every time I sell an envelope, then I want to sell lots of envelopes. Why should I sell my envelopes for less, and make less money? Do you ever tell your boss to not pay you more money, or do you send your tax rebate back to the government and tell them to keep it?

If you want to do something about gas prices, then here ae some simple solutions.

1st, eliminate the ban on using recycled nuclear fuel in nuclear reactors that Carter made law through executive order. This will make nuke power plants more effective, thus creating more incentive to build a nuke plant, and therefore reduce our dependence on oil power plants for energy, thereby reducing oil costs in the market.

2nd, remove the ban placed on converting coal into gasoline instituted under the Truman Administration. When the Nazis went afer Russia, they lost their oil supplies. They invented a process of reorganizing the hydrocarbons of coal into a cleaner, and hotter burning diesel. We can create cleaner, hotter diesel, therefore more energgy and less pollution, for 48$ a barrel. End this dumb bureaucratic ban and let the marketplace solve the problems.

3rd, every city, state, county, and even the fed, can and does set its own emissions laws. That is why gas in one city is chemically different than other cities, and therefore why prices are so sharp from one city to another. Abolish the ability of local governments to regulate the grade of gasoline, and place it under the federal umbrella. If you like, make the federal reg. the strictist one out there, but make just one reg. This will allow the refining process to shift from a micro-processing plant to an economy of scale plant.

Institute just these changes, as well as build more refineries, allow off shore drilling, and Alaska drilling, and we will have lower prices.

Sorry for spelling errors, as spell check failed me.

The only way we will get the oil prices/gasoline prices down is for us to stop consuming so much of them. As soon as the demand for oil/gas goes down the prices will drop right behind

oh, puhleez- stop ranting...we ARE in America thats why we have FREE MARKETS and we don't NATIONALIZE businesses or FIX PRICES. Bush has NO CONTROL over CRUDE PRICES.

Try a boycott, it's been done before. You'd do much better to CARPOOL and CONSERVE. That's the quickest way to lower prices.

So quit whining, look at all the HUMMERS, SUV's, and TRUCKS on the road- that's why we use more than we produce.

stop buying gasoline. its supply and demand. screw just a 3 day boycott. how about a permenant boycott of exxon mobil. if they know youll only be boycotting for 3 days theyll just raise their prices to make up for those 3 days of lower profits.
