sports does seem to be a huge part of USA culture, so I put this in this section.

this is primarily addressed to a USA audience, but I welcome answers from all over.

My aspiration wasn't pro sports like NBA or the like, but the Olympics. I realized I wouldn't be going when I was around 15 years old. That would make me 19 for the next olympics and older than my competition.

However, at 42, I am considering taking up curling so I can still go :)

It was clear from the start that I would never be a pro athlete. I was always picked last for baseball, but first for study partner. I play basketball Friday nights with the guys, but I don't impress anyone. That's why I'm an engineer.
