make sure they are in the correct audio jack in the back of the computer. Also are they powered speakers? then try unplugging the power and also turn your computer off. Put the power back on again. and see if it worked, happens to me sometimes

Hey, there are some steps which may help you for this problem, it would have been quite depressing if you are a music lover, I know it kinda suck!!!
But no problems now:
Step 1: Are they connected properly???
Step 2: Is a sound card installed on your PC???
Step 3: If your volume isn't turned "mute"?
If the volume icon is not placed on the taskbar. you can go to control panel>>Sound Speech and Audio Devices>>Sound and A udio Devices. Now check off the mute button. And for other sound problems this is the best place to go. Or, you can just go to help and support cecter if the problem persists...
All I can do now, is let your speakers LIVE!!!

make sure that your speakers are connected into the right outlet on your cpu, usually, when that happens it's not connected properly,
if it is then u need to enable sound from sounds and audio devices or sounds and multimedia in the control panel, if all is still fine
u can try add new hardware from control panel or u can go to device manager from properties on my computer, under the hardware tab and check the device that u want to see if it's actually working properly, double click the device for it to open up

Uninstall>Restart and then reinstall ur Sound card.
R u using XP??? Usually XP gives sound troubles. (Sometimes Other OS also but r seldom).
Take ur Mother Board CD and install the Sound card. Usually XP installs deafult Graphics/Sound cards. Please note that default cards may or may not work all the time depending upon Mother board Compatibility. And that's the reason u must install the sound card that suits ur mother board best. Usually Graphica card number and sound card number r printed on the Mother board's Cover. Ex: P4M266 VIA823X. (P4m266 is my GC num while VIA823X is My Sound Card num). Similarly ur MB' cover will have some alphanumeric numbers printed. Browse these num under MB cd under Sound folder and Install the card depending upon ur OS.

1 : have you downloaded the software ?
2 : is everything plugged in properly
3 : is there an on/off button on the speaker(s) themselves
if none of these work , contact the service dept .
best of luck !
