A good book for you to read...The Dragons of Eden by Dr. Carl Sagan. He has theories of dreaming. I like to think his idea is the best. The brain is like a filing cabinet and while dreaming the files are getting cleaned out. Look it up.

I've read about dreams sometime back, where it said that dreams occur based on our inner desire to do something, or how our inner self feels at the moment. It may or may not be reliable, but it's a whole psychological aspects that scientists and psychologists are trying to solve till today. The mystery of dream is still pending. Some say that how we feel on that day of the dream will shape how the dream goes; some say that it's shaped out of our inner feelings/desires. I'm sure nobody wishes for a loved one's death, but sometimes this occurs. Some even say that the opposite will happen despite what we dream ie a person dies in the dream will turn out to be feeling good or doing great in the future and such. Some believe that dreams are one of the ways God reveals His vision to us. It tells the future or serves as a warning sign to us and prepares us to face life. Nevertheless, many don't believe in dreams. So which do you choose? I say, hope for the best in everything we do and leave the rest in God's hands. Not worth worrying so much for something which may or may not be turning out to be a reality. Cheer up, friend =)

It is the minds way of getting out what it finds sad and dreams or nightmares are our brains way of dealing with what bothers it instead of keeping it in. That would be horrible to have something sad, scary, tragic or whatever else happen in our lives over our lifetime and keep it in. Could you imagine what the mental hospitals would look like? Or how high the suicide rate would be?

Sometimes something bothers a person when watching television or reading a book. The sub-conscious will hold the information for your dream. At least that's how I think it is since I have weird dreams of seeing myself outside of myself. No one can explain my dreams.

Because they are stressed and/or sad. Your mind is just thinking while you're sleeping.
