I don't see how they would get back up if they didn't.

I have no idea, but that is a great quesiton.

Q: How did T. rex sleep? Did it sleep standing up?
A: T. rex probably slept standing up like a horse or sitting on its big pubic boot, a bone in its pelvis. I don't know if it snored, but it probably roared when awake, and one Japanese scientist thinks it sounded like a big belch. It probably had bad breath from eating rotting meat and not brushing between meals! (Don Lessem)

They could have. Check out the new King Kong movie. There are several T-rex's that fall and get up while fighting Kong. They did it quite cleverly too because I always wondered what would happen if one ever fell over. Models don't give you an answer... they just lay there..... motionless.
What about a kangaroo? They must fall over and their design is similar to a T-rex. Maybe on line you could find a clip of a kangaroo getting up after falling.
Have a great day!!!

I don't think we'll ever know...however, my guess would be that they did. I base this on the behavior of their closest living relatives, birds...many of which sleep while perched. I suppose it's possible they could have sat like a bird a nest does and slept that way. I think it's quite unlikely they laid down on their side.

We'll never know... and never get the chance to go T-Rex tipping.
