Driveway is a private road which one "drives" on that leads up to and/or connects to a house, garage, or other building with the street.
Parkway is a broad landscaped highway, often divided by a planted median strip. (the Park) or a wide scenic road planted with trees - so when driving on the parkway you are really driving on the highway with some "park". But you can always park on the parkway if you want to or park in Parkway, MO.
