The problem with the Cardinals is that for the past 3 years they have looked good on paper and everyone keeps saying that "this year" is going to be their breakout year, yet they still seem to implode. I think they made a big move in getting James. That has been one thing they have been lacking is a consistent running game. Now the question is can thier O-line open up some holes for him.
Personally I think they have a good shot at at least making the playoffs, but we shall see. I am going to AZ to watch them play my Steeler in the pre-season opener, so I will be able to get a good look at them then.
BTW - I think if Brunell can put together a decent year, your skins are going to be a dangerous team. Too bad your whole division (well maybe not Philly) is looking pretty good.
I still get bragging right though until the season starts...GO Steelers!

Two words: Warped Priorities.
What are they thinking? Getting an all star RB in James while failing to upgrade an offensive line with more holes than swiss cheese... Sure, they have two of the best WR's in the league. If I were the owner, I would gladly trade one of them for a center and a draft pick. There is no need to stack the line if you're playing them,, and you can put double coverage on both receiving threats. It seems like a 12 year old boy is managing this team. He wants the big names, and doesn't think the line is as important as a dynamic RB. I simply don't understand what they're thinking.
On a side note, their new stadium is probably the coolest building i've ever seen.

Warner will be on the bench by Week 6, especially if the Cardinals don't start 3-2 or better. Besides, he's a washed-up bum.
With their schedule and the division they're in, they're not going to challenge Seattle for the division crown, but they're definitely a contender for the wild card.
Here's their schedule and my predictions:
S10 San Francisco - win
S17 @Seattle - loss
S24 St. Louis - win
O1 @Atlanta - loss
O8 Kansas City - win
O16 Chicago - win (but barely)
O22 @Oakland - win
O29 @Green Bay - win
N5 bye
N12 Dallas - win
N19 Detroit - win
N26 @Minnesota - loss
D3 @St. Louis - win
D10 Seattle - loss
D17 Denver - loss
D24 @San Francisco - win
D31 @San Diego - win
So I've got them 11-5, but that's probably optimistic. More likely 9-7 or 10-6.

My only concern: Did they do anything for the O-line? You still have to have the blocking up front. If the line opens some holes / protects Warner they will be unstoppable.
Regarding Lienhart: I hope they leave him on the bench to learn this year and maybe start in 2007 / 2008. Warner should be good for another year or two.
I had Fitzgerald in a fantasy league last year (traded some schmuck for him because he was not highly rated early on) and he scored week-in & week-out - even while Bolden was hurt.

I think the Cardinals will be much better than last year. Because they have Edgarin James, it will take pressure off their line. They also have Larry Fitzgerald and Kurt Werner. They will be fun to watch, although I am not a fan of them. I see them winning 9 or 10 games. Peace out.

I have a problem with the Cardinals, not because they've got good players...but because the players have to play in that insane heat for most of september and october...it's not really fair for either team to have to play in that crap...home field advantage? You bet'cha...but damn is it hot there. The new stadium will keep the sun out...but it's still gonna be blazing in that place.
As far as the season goes, yeah they'll win more away games than home games this year...I'm gonna say they run for a wild card this season with Washington, New York, Tampa, and Green Bay....But I think Washington and Tampa take them....Poor Cardinals. They have the offense...THE offense..probably one of the best in recent years for any team...it almost looks Colts-like this year...scarey. The defense is what kills them.

Offensively they look good, at least at the skill positions but they'll be only as good as their OL lets them. Cards big questions are on D. They may be like the Vikings, Indy, or KC of past years and they'll need to score 30+ every game to give their D a chance. We'll see...they have been making strides to improve and that is a plus in their favor.

Really what improvements have they made? They can't win any games. Everyone thinks they're going to be great because of the "names" they have on offense. I'm not going to buy into it until I actually see some kind of success. Just my opinion.

As long as their O-line holds up, they'll have a killer offense. They had one of the best offenses last season and they gained Edge in the backfield...wow. Defense is another issue. I don't really know how they will be. I'm keeping my eye on your 'Skins though. They'll be tough.

Hope springs eternal, but I plan to have a box of kleenex nearby just in case. Maybe the new stadium will help.
