well friend i guess you r not asking about ice hockey beacause india dont have any ice hockey team but all the other peoples r thinking that u r asking abt ice hockey. well in my opininion India dont have any player that can help india to win world cup .. to win world cup a team needs players like dhanraj pillai etc. and i am afraid to say that he is a victim of politics going on in Indian sports !!! secondly people say cricket is killing other games in India but i dont think it is cricket but it is politics in sports i give you1 example !!!

In 1995, during the SAF Games, P. T. Usha, India's greatest female athlete, was the standard bearer. But during the opening ceremony, some official snatched the flag from her in full public view. These two examples show that it is not cricket that is killing other sports, but those in charge of those sports who are doing the damage. There is absolutely no accountability or transparency in the running of most Indian sports. This is not to say that cricket is perfect. It has its share of such characters. That is probably why cricket hasn't gone to seed like others. Let the other sports get their act together before accusing the cricketers.

there are several nations with up and coming programs such as italy. but they will never win the world cup of hockey. the chances of America winning it arent even that great let alone india. Countries like Canada, Russia,Sweden, Czech republic finland and Slovakia are just too good and always will be good. There is some hope i guess switzerland had a very successful olympic run and nobody picked them to win a game. But countries are getting better and better especially teams like Slovakia so no India will not ever win it and probably never even play in it

Well, it's pretty much like sayin' will Canada ever win the FIFA championship (Soccer) No chance at all... The day that India will win the World Hockey Cup, I'll be livin' on Mars because of global warming!

Not too many ice rinks in India so I think they will never be any good at the sport. India won't even be invited to the next World Cup (whenever that is).
Oh, "field" hockey! That's a sport for St. Trinian's girls not real men.

There are a few Indians who play hockey Ex. Chris Simon( Calgary)), Jordan Tootoo(Nashville) . The Nation of India Will not win any medals in Ice Hockey in our lifetime.
