I am 29 weeks pregnant and need to take my glucose test but my dr didnt give me any details (if I needed to fast before the test, etc.) and I hate to get down there and they wont be able to do it because I ate or something stupid like that.

If it is just the one hour test (not the three or five hour), then you may eat the morning of the test, but stay away from anything sugary.
On a side note, if the test comes back positive, don't panic. 20% of pregnant women fail the one-hour. But, 80% of those women who fail the first one, pass the three hour.
Good luck!

ok people are really trying to scare you with the drink thing.. it is glucola.. it is really sweet.. they come in a few flavors.. the most common is orange.. it is super sweet and kind of yucky but it is way better than some things.. the flavor isnt bad jsut the sweetness is hard to handle.. it is fizzy just like soda.. and you will never be able to drink orange soda again with out vomiting.. as for fasting.. you may want to call your doc.. I never had to but it every doctor is different.. i am one of those people that failed the 1 hour and the 3 hour.. i had gestational diabetes.. the first kid i was able to control with diet and exersize .. the other 2 i was insulin dependant.. and one pregnancy i didnt have it at all..

You will have to fast from the night before. When you get there, they will give you a sweet drink (tastes kind of like really sweet soda) to drink. They will tell you how much and in what length of time you need to drink it. After a short time, they will draw blood. Very simple, and the stuff you drink is not that bad.
Good luck with the baby!

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Call the doctor and ask. They are probably going to give you a glucose tolerance test, which will involve having you drink a very sweet substance and then testing your blood sugar at intervals afterward to make sure that your metabolize it correctly. You do not need to fast for this test. Good luck!

You're not supposed to eat anything for at least a few hours before taking the test. They will give you something to drink & they will perform the test exactly an hour after taking the drink.

I believe you should fast for 6 hours before the test. You will then be given a sugary drink and have to wait a half hour or so then they will draw your blood.

It seems to me that I did this when I was pregnant with my
daughter. Fast because they don't want anything in your system
that would throw it off. Then they give you some sweet syruppy
stuff (sugar equivalent to 3 or more sodas). After 15 minutes or
so, they take a reading and then you're free to go.
I actually got a sugar high off it.! First time in my life!
Goodf luck! and Congratulations!
