No juice until at least 6 months - even then, it's not necessary. Juice can cause dental problems and obesity - whole fruit is so much better. Water is also a more suitable drink - but if you are brestfeeding, your baby won't need any additional fluids. Check this link for more information about the pros and cons of juice.

No juice or water yet. Formula or (preferably) breastmilk is all he needs and should have. I started giving my son small amounts of water when he was just under a year old and he has just started drinking juice at 2 years old. He gets most of his fruit juice from fruit that he eats and his water comes from water and breastmilk.

Dilute, Dilute, Dilute!!!! I gave my daughter 1/8 of an ounce of apple juice to 4 ounces of water when she was 2 months old, and she was fine. But only apple juice is recommended by most doctors, so be sure to keep a close eye on her for any allergic reactions.

NO! Not until 6+ months old, there is no nutrition in that juice that the baby needs to develop from.
DO NOT LISTEN TO OLD PEOPLE THAT SAY OTHERWISE. Just cause they did it in 1950 doesn't mean that you should do it now in 2006.

i have 2 children- i raised my kids by this - those books that tell u do this and do that are usually written by people who have no children and are clueless - when your parents and i were growing up they gave us baby cereal, water and juice from day one and hey guess what we survived! - so my answer would be yes as long as your baby is still getting a good deal of formula and you water down the juice i usually gave 1oz juice to 3 oz water

I wouldn't suggest it, formula is suggested even by doctors and nurses until at least 6 months old. Ask your doctor when exactly to give your child juice, they may suggest a later date than 6 months, maybe give you a little more advice than I can give.

If your baby is drinking the formula and having no problem, I don't see why you would need to give him/her any juice at all.

Every pediatrician has a different version of what babies can and cannot eat. Breast milk or formula is the best choice, some doctors recommend some water as well in hot climates.
Many people will offer you advice, stick to what your pediatrician tells you to do.
