Edinburgh is of course gorgeous, but if you'd have unlimited resources and permission to demolish one block in EH1 or EH2 and build something to replace it with - what would you do?

i would love to knock down st james centre. it is the single most hideous building along that stretch. it's not in keeping with the buildings around it. although it does have a few good shops....

Aah.. you know that ugly office building at Melbourne Place, at the corner of High Street and George IV Bridge that the Scottish Parliament used to occupy? Well planning permission's been granted for it to be demolished and replaced with a mixed-used development with a hotel, a bank and shops.

I was in Scotland last summer. Don't change a thing!. It was gorgeous!
