I tried 2 collect the over-all figure of how many died, I hit a brick wall of Media variations.

Check out this website..I just saw it this a.m. and found out that over 1,600 were lost just in Louisiana. 300 of them died after being rescued..

no too sure but i know that it was close to 1,900... i know for sure 50 died in waveland. that includes my mom,dad,and two brothers who also lived in waveland and stayed for the storm but did not survive....

Deaths also were not along racial lines. The media is so reactionary it is unbelievable.
