i do not ever remember having envy of a man's penis before i heard of this. It's quite infuriating really. If you read The Second Sex by De beauvoir, the theory is rightly argued against and largely discredited.
It's a reminder of how wrong one can be!

I'm a guy but I feel a need to share. Freud maybe a pioneer in his time, but some of the things he came up with where way out oe line, this is one of them. How could he throw a blanket statment on woman when his only frame of reference was from disfuntional women and the most important fact is he was a man. I'm a man and have absolutaly no experience what women go through, I can only use empathy to try and understand. Thanks for letting me butt in.

No. Sigmund Freud had is own problems. Why would I want to be a man who cannot control himself. I can go to sleep just fine with out sex. My husband will toss and turn until he gets it. Once he has been satisfied, he sleeps like a baby.

i disagree with this castration complex theory. it came out of the imagination of Freud and has no scientific sanctity .it is an insult to the entire women to believe in this theory.
