Going to Orlando and will be traveling to the beach a couple of days while we're there. Would appriciate your opinions.

Cocoa is the more relaxed, if you are looking for a nice beach that is less crowded here is the place. Also they have a Ron Jon surf shop that has bike rentals that is really neat.

Cocoa Beach is definitely more family friendly, and more up kept. However I prefer west coast beaches to east coast any day. The beaches are much more gorgeous, the sand is so much softer, and with my experience the people are nicer too. Although the drive would be a bit farther (about 30 minutes) it's something to think about. Sand Key and Madeira Beach are two of my favorites on the west coast.

GO WEST COAST BEACHES!
Siesta Key is a blast . Just about the same distance as Daytona or maybe a 20 min more but very worth it.The sand is powder unlike Daytona and Cocoa very rough.
Great for peolple watching too!

I found Daytona very dirty. The beach was gross and the city itself was raunchy. I would go to Cocoa beach. Everywhere you looked in Daytona there were strippers on the street and things like that---and that was on the main drag! Of course, Cocoa Beach could be the same way..I dunno I've never been there. Have fun in Florida anyhow!

We went to Cocoa beach last year and we did not like it at all.
We are use to the Gulf side and the Atlantic side was just very disappointing. Good luck but I would suggest getting on the GULF!!!
