The music one might be a bit of an overgeneralization.

Being black is fashionable now, I think its because of MTV playing so much rap and hip hop, but thats fine. Basketball helps, so does baseball and football.

I had not noticed #3 til you pointed it out, you are right.

As a white guy I have never thought Black people get the same opportunities as whites, its not fair, its wrong, its not bad just for Black people but whites too because Blacks who could do great things get held back or misdirected into less productive lives.

I know for a fact that Black people get pulled over for no good reason, a Black friend who is tall was pulled over by cops who were looking for a short white guy--they made him lie down in the gutter while they searched him, it was so wrong. And riding with a Black friend once, he gets pulled over for doing 60 in a 55 zone and everybody else was doing at least 60 too. This kinda stuff just should not happen, its wrong first off, but it hurts everybody because you want everybody thats on your team trying their best, doing their best and we are all on the same team, whether we are talking about this country or the human race.

#1 some white peple can keep a beat. Others don't care if they do or not.
#2 because its "cool" to be gettoh or "thug"
#3 those are not shows that have been on a long time. These shows are directed to demographic groups of people that will spend money on their advertisers products. the advertisers are going for the most money from the group they are targeting. More white people have more money in general. Not in all cases.
#4 It was the case much more so in the past than now. Except there is a problem when blacks get hired before other races because they are black and not really because thy are more qualified.
#5 I know it is true. Unfortunately. But not always. If there was no reason to be pulled over MOST of the time you wouldn't. But MOST of the time there is a reason. I used to have long hair and an old car and I would get pulled over for no reason from time to time. So I know it still happens. Usually in the suburbs.

I think in general black people do have more rhythm than whites ever see white people dance at a club some of them do OK but the rest just seem to bobble and limp around hopelessly while black people are gettin all funky and $hit. Plus these white suburban teenagers think there gangstas just cuz they bought the new 50 cent c.d. and they rock the G-unit clothes its all trends and whats cool at the moment. I bet black people really do have a harder time with equality too But I know if I was an employer and there was a black person with more qualifications and a white person with less of them I would pick the more qualified person it just fair some cops do give blacks a harder time just cuz of the skin color they gotta stop profiling people It aint cool as for the tv shows I also wonder if the show would have lower ratings if there were more black cast members I dont know the country s still f*cked up with the racism thing

1. I havnt really noticed a larger number of black people that can keep a beat than white people. Maybe you just prefer "black music" to "white music"? and that's why you have that opinion.

2. Not everyone wants to be black. I think you are stereotypeing a skin color to a certain way of life and that isnt very fair to ANY race.

3. There were black people on Friends. I watched that show every week. The other ones not really so much.

4. I honestly dont know about this one

5. I get pulled over alot too. Maybe it's your driving.

You know, funny thing about these questions. I am from the south and I do mean SOUTH, and I have black friends, and none of them really seem to feel this way.

Okay - here goes...

1. Music is much more a part of your culture than the white culture. For you it is part of life; we use it to celebrate life. We just don't have the genetic predisposition to music. I think it is odd, though, that there are more tone deaf blacks than whites. :)

2. Everyone? Don't think so. Every race has its fans. I think us white folks have just gone overboard trying to make up for something modern whites had no part of and find extremely distasteful today. (I wonder when blacks will start to sue other blacks for the rampant slavery that existed between tribes in Africa back then.)

3. Unfortunately, "non-white" shows don't seem to engender the same devoted fan base as "white" shows. It's a shame. It's all entertainment. Every time I hear a new show being touted as "black" or "hispanic" I cringe. If the entertainment industry would stop playing the race game and just promote the shows as entertainment I think more would make it. Example - look at "The Jeffersons". That was one of the funniest shows of its time and had all of the racial issues you could think of in it - black, white, black/white, gay, rich, poor, Jew, etc. It was on for a long time - still on in re-release - and no one ever thought of it as a "black" show. It was just a comedy.

4. Yes, I do. I'm in HR and I see the results of hard work and education no matter what the race. It's not race... it's effort, committment and education. In this day and age, anyone can be successful if they're willing to WORK; and not try to use the entitlement ploy. (And don't give me any racial crap about unfair educational advantages. I'm white and I came from a VERY poor home. I worked 3 jobs and went to school nights to get my degree. It took me 8 years... but I did it. So can anyone.)

5. Yep - unfortunately that's the picture your society has made for itself. The cops seem to forget that there are as many honorable blacks as whites. When I was a kid, being white and from the "wrong side of the tracks" I had the same problem and we had the same stigma.

I am white and not offended by this. I think it's kinda funny. It's sounds like you're black. Here is my "two cents".

1-White people are generally terrible dancers. I play music in a church and always say that if you want proof that God exists, go to a modern church and watch the white people clap their hands together. It's a miracle that only God could perform.
2-Black culture is cool - it's hip hop - it's all that. In the eighties every body wanted to be Japanese.
3-TV is all about the population. More white people relate to those characters. More audience - more money.
4-I think that black people have huge opportunities today - so much more than they did forty years ago. Some blacks would disagree but I think that for the most part, the disadvantage is gone. There is still hatred but the economic disadvantage is very small. We have had two black Secretaries of State both of whom have done and are doing a great job. Entertainment, sports, so many industries are dominated by black people. I am white. I say go for it. It's great.
5-Getting pulled over? I am sure it happens. Stop speeding...

Well, first off, your questions are major generalizations about "white" people but I'll answer you anyway.

1. I've seen plenty of "black" people who can't dance or keep a beat. I bellydance so I know for a fact I can.

2. Not everyone wants to be "black" now. What does that mean anyway? Because I bellydance does that mean I want to be Arabic? Just because people get caught up in fashion or behavioral trends doesn't mean they want to change who they are.

3. Lets see.....Moesha, In Living Color, The Cosby Show, Girlfriends, the spin off of the Cosby show where they're all at Hillman College (can't remember the name), 227 plus more that I can't remember the names of.

4. Everyone believes that they are the ones not getting a "fair shake" when it comes to their own lives. And according to the constitution, yes you get a fair chance to do anything that anyone else does. It's what you do with that chance that matters. There are bad apples in every bunch.

5. Cops pull people over for any number of reasons. Sometimes their bogus but most of the time it's not.

I don't mean to offend but those are my answers.

Sorry, I thought this was going to be about NASCAR....

No, seriously, I am not sure why blacks have a 'rhythm advantage' but I think it is more than just a sterotype or racism to see that it is true.

As for shows, it seems that mutliculturalism doesn't seel well in mainstream media, as the Cosby Show, Fresh Prince, and Bernie Mac all ran a while, but I can not think of a mixed race cast show...wait, duh!!! ER has lasted well and has always had a good mix of races. Charmed had the black police character who lasted longer than many of the white lead characters. I would say these shows seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, but ti is possible.

I do think blacks in America today have less choices and still have an unfair disadvantage, but I think it is far less than it has been, and the issue nowadays is somewhat a matter of choice, as people (regardless of race) venerate a hip hop culture that sometimes venerates violence and mistreatment of women. This is not what true hip hop is about, but I am a teacher and I see many students (again, regardless of race) who think that IS what it's all about. They complain about being biased against, but then they are fighting, stealing, and beating their girflfriends. That sickens me that people do not see the difference between true discrimination and their own actions. Both exist, but you can not blame discrimination on your own actions.

I know that blacks get pulled over more often than whites, and I am not sure why this is so. A friend of mine got pulled over because the cop ran her tags and saw they were expried. I am white and had a truck for 3 years that did not have valid tags, because the dealership made an error in processing the paperwork and gave me a tag that was NEVER registered with the DMV. Three years, and I never had a cop run my tag, even when I got a SPEEDING TICKET! That bothers me quite a bit.

Okay, lets try this....
First off, I'm white and I don't mean to offend anyone either, but you want honest answers and I'm going to do my best to give them to you.
#1...attitude. White people are very self conscious as a whole. Dancing is about attitude and i'm not takling about the kind w/ your nose in the air either. when I'm on the dance floor I just can't let myself go and be free. I don't know why, but it seems that most minorities are ore comfortable with themselves than white people are.
#2 not sure. I don't know anyone who has made that claim to me.
#3 I don't remember Cosby or the family in "My Wife and Kids" haveing any white friends either so it goes both ways. Plus, I don't see a channel on TV called WHITE Entertainment Television (WET) mainly because that would be considered raceist whereas BET does exist. (not many whites o there either). For the most part, I do think that is a play on society. Blacks generally hang out with blacks, Whites with other whites. though, like me, isome have friends of the other race, I find that is usually not the norm.
#4 sometimes you have more. There are a number of programs, grants, etc that you can qualify for just because you are black that i can't because i'm white. and there cannot be a whites only grant, program, etc because that would be raceist (see my WET/BET reference in #3)
#5 yes, I do. But I can also relate to this one. I'm from the north living in the south. I've been pulled over numerous times for "Driving Northern" (if you get my meaning). They are still fighting the civil war down here. Truth be told, some people are just a$$holes and bigatry exists in this country wheather it be black/white, north/south, male/female or dog lover/cat lover.

Maybe someday the world will grow up and like Dr King had hoped...ALL men will be equal.

Good question BTW.

1. Some white people can keep a beat. I prefer white music as you called it over black.
2. I don't want to be black. Although I live in a very populated African american community I like being myself and they like me as I am.
3. I don't know I hate all those shows.
4. Not sure about that.
5. That happens to everyone. I have seen white people get pulled over too
