I would not chance it. Whatever the mother eats will be passed to the baby throught the milk. Babies' immune systems are not all that great. A bacteria that you ingest from the sushi may not bother you, but could cause GI problems for the infant.

The truth of the matter is Yes! As long as it is fresh. For thousands of years women have been eating this stuff. This day and age everyone is so worried. Take a look at yourself cause I am sure you mom has done it. Good luck and enjoy your Sushi, Just do not overdo it.

Yes. Just eat at clean bars. Think, Japanese women breast feed. They also eat sushi. What's not good is pork and red meat.

Yes you can eat whatever you want while breastfeeding as long as it's not something that your baby is allergic or sensitive to. Some babies are sensitive to a lot of dairy in their mothers diet but I've never heard of a sushi sensitivity.

I don't know if you realize this but sushi refers to the rice in the roll, not the fish.

You shouldnt eat it when your pregnant. So I wouldnt eat it while feeding!

There can be various bacteria in seafood...something that should probably be addressed with her doctor...
