iceland.

been there twice, loved it both times -- even the winter, lol.

summer -- green, grassy, comfortably moderate temps; and tin foil over the windows means you can block out some of the 24-hr sunlight, lol.

winter -- cold, snowy, windy, and you're burning lights during the day because it's 24-hr darkness, lol.

i have seen the wind move a fully-loaded dumpster across a parking lot -- but i also got to see some of the most amazing scenery on this earth: driving into a valley and seeing crystal blue water reflecting the puffy white clouds and green, green hills; flying over a lake and watching a waterfall tumble down the mountainside to meet it; ripples of lava rock forming waves of brown and black pushing through grass so green your eyes hurt; geysers, mudbaths, city and country, beach and town... and in the interior, there are both a huge lava desert, as well as glaciers!

the people are incredibly friendly, the food is great...but the scenery...that's what holds my heart.

if you get the chance, check it out. it's well worth the trip!!

Before planning a trip, u shud answer lots of questions, if the country speaks same language as u, do u like sun, beach, monuments, history, nature, are u an aventurer or a jet setter and the most important thing is how much money u've got.

The above things are essential and since this is ur first time, u shud make it memorable and avoid bad experiences.

If you like nature, Ireland is beautiful. If u love adventures, Safari is great but if u love history and monuments, go to Austria, Prague and Paris. If u go to Asian countries, better do some solid research first or ask people around bfore doing so, it might be dangerous.

Have a nice trip

I travelled to Montreal with my family and my friend's family. It was great. We chose a high room in the hotel, and at night, we would go onto the balcony and look out across the city. It was so beautiful, there were so many lights, and the river that we could see on the horizon was beautiful as well. We visited the Notre Dame cathedral in Canada, and went to the Hard Rock Cafe, and ate this cool dessert with plain chips and fruit and chocolate syrup. We went to the river to see the ships, and while we were there we all tried real crepes. In August they also have this really cool jazz festival out on the streets. I had a great time! Not to mention, for such a huge city, we only heard sirens once the entire time. We spent a week up there. I recommend it.

Hey, I was the same way until a few years back. I actually live in Hamilton, Ontario and have not really ventured futher than Newfoundland. On our last vacation we wanted to try something new as it was our honeymoon. We flew down to Florida and took a cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines out of Tampa. We went on the Carnival Miracle ship. The ship went to Grand Cayman, Belize, Costa Maya and Cozumel Mexico. It was an absolute blast. Your best bet and value as well would be to look at cruises on travel.yahoo.com and that way you get all of your food included and also get to see different places. Once you find a place that you like, you can go back there on your next vacation for a week. I had a blast on this cruise and am sure you would too.

If you want to experience a different culture ?
If you are sick of anything Western?
If you want to venture to a totally diffrerent world?

Then I would recommend JAPAN.

You could easily do a free and easy travel in this country by just gathering information from the internet and travel guide. Travelling around is not a problem due to their shinkansens(bullet train) and express trains/buses. + sightseeing passes. Food is plentiful but most of all, immersing into their different traditions , trends and places, you will learn a lot. Each day has a discovery for you to experience.

My first trip out of the country was to the Acapulco
Princess. I liked it so much I returned twice. Rome
is gorgeous for sight seeing. Israel is great for history-
but don't go this year!

If I had a chance to go anywhere that I haven't already
been, I'd probably choose Greece. It just looks so
beautiful and seems to have it all.

Good luck. Happy Travelling!

You could try Koh Samui in on the eastern coast of Thailand. Chug around on an inexpensive motorbike, exploring the sights and culture. Interact with the friendly people. Enjoy the magnificent beaches and get a wonderful tan, even while riding your bike. :)

Every place has its uniqueness. I would personally find out what I am interested in the most. Then I would pick a country and region that would fit my interests.
