the royals front office brass is the only thing that sucks about the royals. They are the ones that have put together the team that you see today. think about it...the royals signed mark grudzalinek and reggie sanders, and doug mientkiewicz, and they still have matt stairs, and all I ask is why.......the reason is, because first off they don't know baseball. Secondly they are cheap. you give me control of the royals starting in 2007 and I could make them a team that gets 82 or more wins. they have so much talent, and they just traded away a very talented yet rushed pitcher in JP howell for practically nothing. Pitching is what they need, and they keep giving it away without realizing their mistake. They traded for odalis perez and thus have to deal with his contract.....why??????? The mark redman signing was good for this year because it bolstered a rotation that was going to struggle.....but going out and getting scott elarton and joe mays, did they think this would help......no they just didn't want to spend the money to even have a competitive team---not a good team, but a club that could at least be in the game after the 2nd inning. jeremy affeldt is one of the more talented pitchers in the game, yet the royals have managed to destroy his career thus far. He's their ace if anyone else is controlling this team. denny bautista is a great young pitcher..theres two guys that can pitch now and have been wasted. they have the bullpen pieces with burgos and leo nunez and hopefully they plug andy sisco into the roation instead of making him a reliever. jimmy gobble is 5 guy at the most, and most likely would be better suited for a long relief role. zach greinke is amazing yet they have wasted him. runelvys hernandez is over touted yet they still have him. mike wood isn't good, and they let dennis the tank go to the cards...wtf. they have the pitching pieces they just haven't used them. now their young hitters will be great. billy butler, justin huber, alex gordon, chris lubanski...and with mark teahan and david dejesus already at the big league level, and with a decent catcher that has pop in john buck....and with donnie murphy (if they play him), and mcconnell in a few years. the royals will evetually get a lot better, and become a good team................so long as the front office doesn't **** them up . next year If I was in charge I'd have the rotation look like this...for th enitre year none of this give them a month ****
1. Mark Redman- simply to anchor the young guys
2. Jeremy Affeldt- ace material
3. Zach Greinke- ace material
4. Denny Bautista- solid 3,4 guy down the road
5. Andy Sisco- huge frame would aid him as a starter.
(once Luis Cota, their top pitching prospect is ready he can replace redman...too bad they got rid of JP Howell..he's good..it's the D-Rays gain)
have gobble as the long guy, nunez in middle relief until he works his way up to set-up. burgos closing, and just fill in the other relief spots with veteran signings who can show the young guys the ropes just like redman can help the young starters.

Chiefs have a phat running game, and beefing up on receivers. The Royals have prtty much sucked since George Brett and the 1980 world series.

Chiefs at least have a decent team with a chance to make the postseason every year, being in a league with a salary cap and revenue sharing.
Royals don't have a prayer of being successful any time soon.

Royals are in a bad situation. They need more money, and they need to SPEND it in order to succeed.
Chiefs, well, they're somewhat of a trendy pick in this year's AFC West.

you know that kansas sucks when kansas city isn't located in kansas (relocated to Missouri but that hasn't helped them much anyways).
