Some questions...why would the doctor perform a hysterectomy to treat your colon?

Do you have Endometriosis? If so, Endo on or near the bowel and GI tract can be causing the type of pain you are describing, and it needs to be treated. Hysterectomy, often performed for Endo, is not a cure and removal of the uterus does not treat Endo in or around the GI area.

Find a doctor who can help you once and for all. If a gastroenterologist won't help, see a colorectal surgeon. If Endo is the culprit, see an experienced Endo specialist (for example, www.centerforendo.com). Keep going until you find someone to help you.

Good luck and feel better.

Polyps in your colon.

The pain may be refered pain from the polyps, possibly some nerve irritation from the hysterrc (kinda long time though). talk to another MD or a DO. Women's health is sensitive especially after a hysterrec.

If you know you have polyps in your colon, are they being treated in any way? See your doctor about the pain...if that doctor cannot or will not help you, then change doctors. There is no need to suffer...

If the Doctor that you are seeing is not helping you to your satisfaction, you should find another Dr. that will. Sounds like this one may lack compassion, experience, or knowledge
