To tell you the truth, I haven't bought anything from E-bay. I dunno how it works.

I have used ebay a lot - to buy, not to sell. I believe they make their money by charging sellers a percentage of the sales amounts once auctions are over.
Paypal links to your checking account and is free.
I have occasionally been disappointed with a purchase, but most of the time I have been quite pleased. There is a rating system - all buyers and sellers are rated for each transaction. Check that a seller has a high number of ratings, and a very high "positive" ratio, before bidding. All the feedback is posted on the site. Check that the seller accepts the kind of payment you want to pay with, and that they have few negative feedback entries if any.
You can also just buy something at a fixed price if a seller has a "buy it now" feature.
I recommend ebay highly, and never had a huge problem. I have made over 200 purchases, and can remember 3 or 4 at most which were not all I expected.
Good luck!

When you want to buy something that usually costs quite a bit in a store, you can definitely find it on e-bay cheaper. (just bought flea medicine for my cat at about 1/3 the price) Paypal is an online account, attached to your bank account or credit card. It doesn't cost any money and they don't charge your account unless you buy something. I don't use e-bay alot (10 times in about 3 years) but it pays off for some things. My husband has it down to a science. You wait until the last 20 seconds of something and then put in your highest bid. E-bay will up your bid only depending on what other people have put as their highest bid, so you won't pay your highest unless you are being outbid by someone else. Sometimes you get the item, sometimes other people are willing to pay more.

I have never bought anything from e bay. I doubt that I ever will. It's something about buying a product that I have never seen (besides a picture) and does the product work? Will it be a hassle to sent it back and get my money back? If I send it back do I have to pay for shipping and handling? Just to many questions that need to be answered.

you can set up an Account through E-Bay and pay items through pay pal or mail the person who is selling an item a money order. It is really easy and simple. I have bought a couple of items in E-Bay.. it was pretty neat. I recommend it.

I was a bit weary of eBay when I first started using it, but now it's simple and I even sell some useless crap on it too. All you do is create an eBay account, and then for a more simple payment transaction sign up for Paypal, it's all free. Paypal can use your bank account or credit card on it's secure isolated servers. Paypal is like it's own financial bank, it moves money from outside sources to inside it's own system from one user to another. For more reading click the link below.

I have never ever used EBay. I'm afraid of it. Yes, you must use Pay Pal. Which is an account you put money in and they pay the seller. You don't actually deal with the seller. I don't trust the interent with purchases. I'll stick with good old stores.

ebay is awesome.
pay pal is totally free. its just basically when you buy something online instead of entering your credit card number so much times, it will go to your paypal account and take the money from the credit card there. when you're using ebay make sure the person is a top seller or 96%+ positive user feedback.

A paypal account is like a checking account with any bank and it is free. You can even get a MAC card for it. I have one. But you dont need one to buy on e-bay. Most auctions willl tell you what they accept and most do accept credit cards. Hope this helps

It's sad to say but I have never used ebay either. This could be because my dad will not let me use his credit card. But just to let you know that your not the only person in the world that hasn't bought from ebay.
