i would say we are true patriots. thomas jefferson once said-"a true patriot questions his country when it is wrong." it is time for a change. and the mid-term elections will prove it.

I agree 100%. Anyone who doesn't stand up for freedom, justice, and equality when they are threatened by the government isn't a true American. We owe it to ourselves and our country to make our voices heard, especially in the upcoming election.

I really don't see the midterm elections changing much. Dems may take seats and control, but they won't accomplish much. All they will do is play partisan party games and ruin the country more. Not saying they are wrong or right, but they hate Pres Bush so much everything will stagnate in congress and the last 2 years of this administration will be worse than the previous 6, if you think they were bad.

And no, it doesn't mean you hate your country. You just have your own ideas about what you think is best for it, just like everyone else does.

No, just that many, like you david c are confused and misinformed because of liberal news organizations like NBC and their like with their slanted poll data and liberal reporters who hate the President and second guess everything that he does...

david c, you wise and educated little boy with all of your diplomas - can't you see that you and all the liberasl have no idea about the importance of statesmanship - about standing with your President in a time of crisis? It's OK to question anything, it's OK to offer alternatives, but the left in this country just constantly condemns everything Mr. Bush does, hates him without limit, and gives so much aid and comfort to the enemy that it is very troubling. When the democrats sound just like Al Queda and Al Jazeera - what does that tell you, oh profound david c - what does it tell you?

Liberals in this country would rather see their country fail, as long as it meant defeat for George Bush, and that's why they are unpatriotic. Questions are fine, but the unbroken string of lies, misinformation, smear tactics - just to try to make him look bad. That's where you go over the line... You would never say anything good about anything he does. Conservatives freely criticize the President when we disagree - as no one is perfect. You are so blinded by your hatred of him and this country, you stop at nothing to keep up the negativity...

if you disagree with the direction of the country does not mean you are unpatriotic. what makes some people unpatriotic is that they always want to blame America for everything. they also can find a million problems and no solutions. many people question the direction of the country for political reasons and that is the ultimate act of UNpatriotism.(That is a new word. I swear, I did not make it up. OK maybe I did make it up.)

Many parents disagree with the direction their offspring have chosen (e.g. career, marriage partner, etc.). Does that mean they hate their child(ren)? Probably not. I have no idea why people equate disagreement with hatred. They are mutually exclusive. It's rather sad because now we can't voice disagreement about anything without being attacked. Growth can not happen within a vacuum.

Check the stats. The majority of Americans do not disagree with the direction we are going. Just the majority of liberal Americans.
