Let's see..........a trained professional (your doctor) tells you it is and you doubt it.

Yet a total stranger (that's me) tells you it is or isn't.

Which would you believe?

Work on your grammar and spelling, then come back with a real question.

I agree with curious - I get migraines from time to time and let me tell you, the only thing that I can do is lie in a dark, cool room and take a migraine pill.

A computer will only aggravate it more. Migraines don't usually last more than a day or even a few hours but when you get one, you will definately know. Your head pounds, you're extremely sensitive to light and you lose your peripheral vision.

They run in my family and we've all had the same symptoms. If you have a headache that lasts for more than a day or so, then I would get a second opinion. It sounds to me like you very well could have a sinus infection/headache. Where is the pain?

Judging by the migraines I have suffered in the past, if you were having one that last thing on this earth you would be able to do is sit in front of a computer, let alone ever being able to type out any sort of question. I'd get a second opinion. You might be suffering from a sinus infection of some sort. Those can cause serious headaches.

It may or may not be migrain. Most physician have tendancy to diagnose any recurrent headache as migrain. If your physician gave this diagnosis on your very first visit chances are that he is wrong or he may be right either. Becouse he is trying hit and trial method. If you accept its ok and if not, get ready for few more investigation. Anyway diagnosis of migrain is one that of exclusion ie when all other cause of headache are excluded, one make diagnosis of migrain. However various other headache also present as classical migrain( eg half head aching, aura, vomitting etc.) Most commen headache that appear to be like migrain is ckuster headache. However treatment is more or less same at the onset of headache however migrain is more resistant to treatment once well established(episode and not disease). You need to identify the triggring cause of this headache. It may be food, chocolate, loud music, flickring light etc. You need to find out it yourself and for that best is maintain a activity diary. Avoid precipitating cause. Take some preventive medicine till you find out the precipitating cause.

If the doctor told u its migrain 75% chances are that it is migrain,
But you should also see a specialist and take advice.
best is watch it yourself, What triggers this headache?
Does the pain migrate all over the head,? Do you also feel like vomitting when u have a headache? do u feel nauseas,? does bright light and noise give you a head ache? does a big crowd like a marriage function give u a headache?
You can actually manage it better if you know what triggers it,

yes if a headache lasts for like 3 days or more its a migraine or a tension headache..... my mom used to have really bad migraines. lay down, take sudifed(spelled wrong) or advil or tylenol and get your sinuses checked! while you're layin down also massage your neck and try to fall asleep so u dont think about it....if its still bad then get prescription migraine pills.

yes sounds like what it is, try to find out what causes them, for me its lack of sleep or too much sleep(sleeping past my reg wake up time), sometimes a drastic change in the weather causes them , sometimes its hormonal, and i know some red wines do it and sometimes just certain types of alcohol. some people are sensitive to MSG in food, or even some people get them from aspartame, which is an artificial sweetner.....avoid the things you can and if you can avoid things such as the weather or hormonal changes, take medication as soon as you feel it coming on...the sooner the better....excedrin migrain works great for me...

If you mean that you have a headache for 5 days, then it is more than likely a migrane.

The only time I have a headache for 5 days, is when I'm drinking 5 days straight.

Wouldn't it be better to just believe your doctor, than to ask that question here. If he said you have migrain, you have migrain.
