Does it seem that men are getting wimpier? What happened to the strong, rugged, capable, chivalrous type of men? I don't like this new "metro-sexual" thing at all!

I'm not saying every man should or shouldn't be like this, or that it's right or wrong, I'm just making an observation and giving my opinion on what I prefer.

Yes, I agree with you. These guys don't want to get there uncalloused hands dirty... I'll hold out for one that is more masculine. I think alot of it stems from single parent households. When the father is not around to instill values of what a manly-man is. I'm a single parent, and I make sure my son hangs out with his grandpa and his father alot. I don't need a girly son!

Um, deal with it. Variety is the spice of life. There are your traditional strong, rugged, stinky men. If you like those, more power to you. There are, as you say, "wimpier" men who aren't afraid to smell decent and carry a handbag. Some of us like those. More power to us.
It's just as harmful to wish that all guys were strong, rugged, capable, chivalrous men as to wish that all girls were submissive, nurturing, home-making, decorative women. One's sex shouldn't prescribe how one acts or what one wears.
I also find it intensely offensive that you apparently thing that no men but football-players are capable or chivalrous. Quite unture. I'm queer, and I'm both.
