There's this 11 year old girl in my dad's family, and I went to the park to play tennis with my dad, my 18 year old cousin, his parents, the 11 year old girl and her mom, and my dad's cousins and their kids....now I just want her to like me. I don't like shy people, or quiet people. What's there to be shy around me for? I'm not intimidating, nor am I pushy or bossy or snotty in any way. She's the one being that way not me. What can I do to get her to stop acting like a stupid little kid and embarassing me in front of everyone?

No, I'm 22. I just want her to like me (as a friend of course!) jeez people get your mind out of the gutter! Plus, she's supposed to respect adults! Not the other way around, when I was her age I didn't act like that (so rude ).

I really hope you are 13 or younger, or this is a family member you cant connect with, but if you want an 11 year old to respond positively to you, you have to do things with them that interests them. If she for instance likes to collect things or has a favorite animal, talk about that with her. I am a nanny and I deal with children every day. They can be difficult, but in the end it is worth it.

She is 11 years old.
She is a little kid, she is unable to act any differently.
You could just ignore her, and she will then try to win you over, but for this to work you would have to completely ignore her several times without error.

try to repay her rudeness by being extra nice to her. when you feel than she has soften with you a little... find out what she is fond of... and give her something which she wants, give it to her and say it is your peace offering.
