I'll tell you why... cause they are not concerned with human lives and more concerned with the dollars large numbers of prisoners (blacks) generate for a class of mostly white people....

The war on drugs is nowhere near being won, therefore it has not gone too far! We have children overdosing on cold medicines, every walk of life can claim heroin, cocaine, or other addicts. We now have meth to add to the list. Please cite your source that most of the people in jail are drug offenders. I happen to work in a court system. We see the end results most frequently. Those who are in jail or prison are most often not there for drug offenses (although the need for the drug may have been the motivation).

The war on drugs gone too far...I think not. Drugs are a BIG problem in America. Maybe if harsher punishments were put into action not only could justice be served, but druggies would see that we are not taking this issue lightly. I don't want them in my neighborhood.....keep them in there- for as long as possible. And just to let you know, treatments do not always work!! They certainly do not work for pedophiles.

You do of course know that you are an idiot. We've had prisons even longer than the Republican party has been around. What do you propose oh bright one? Let them all go? Maybe we should and give them your address. You gets slapped in the head a lot don't you?

I think they should have a government facility where people can go to get free drugs. In these facilites, these people will be safe, treated and hopefully remove their addiction.
Besides, this would put illegal drug dealers out of business. I mean you can't beat FREE drugs.

yes it has. if a person wants to destroy their own body that's their right. as long as they don't hurt anyone else i think they should be left alone. jails should be for those who hurt other people what u do to yourself is your business this is the USA.

Of course it's gone too far - it never should have started.
Why, in a "free" country, is it any business of POLITICIANS what you put into YOUR OWN BODY?
