I have not seen the colorized version. Don't want to. I thought it was hilarious. And where you stand on the issue of marijuana doesn't really matter. It's just a terrible movie and I mean that in a good way.

I watched the original in black and white. I thought it was hilarious. They tried so hard to make you think you'd go crazy for smoking pot. But when you watch the movie while smoking pot, it just makes it better!

Oh, yes, back in the day!! Great stuff in B&W and so true about being stoned when you watch. As to whether it was believed -- oh, yes to that as well! Parents, die-hard do-gooders (who know who we mean), etc. all *totally* believed it and were very annoyed that I -- I mean, they, those others, you know -- were laughing at such serious stuff!! (LOL!!)

I saw the one in color on Showtime......it was the stupidest movie I have ever seen. WAY TOO MUCH singing...it was so horrible.

saw both, own both, thought the color is funny, but then drags, i wanted it to end.
thought the black & white version was un watchable

Oh yeaaah man! I watched the newer one and it made me want to watch the older one because that one is supposed to be serious I think. But yeah, it was super funny! And those songs man.....! wtf?? :)
