Your electric company very likely has a separate rate for low income families, and by contacting them and applying for it, you can be paying a lower rate on your normal kilowatts. Examine your bill--there might be information on the back that tells you how to go through this process.

Contact your local Social Services agency and ask about the energy assistance program for your state. In some states you can apply for this program by itself and in others you can apply with it in conjunction with the other programs that Social Services offers such as food assistance. The energy assistance program may help in one or both of two ways: They may help by making the cost of your electric bill the same every month like a payment plan, and they may help you by paying a portion of it.

well first i would find the monkeys in the zoo, but not any monkey look for the one with the missing tooth. Hey knows what to do and has been expecting you for some time. He will then lead you to the giraffes, a giraffe will eat you, munch you up, then spit you out in pieces. This monkey will then put you back together in such a way that your head will be on straight. He will probably slap you in the face with baby powder and tell you to get a job and quit looking for hand outs. But you better have a banana for him when he is done helping you

Contact your electric company- they should know who in your area can help, and how to reduce your bill.

Also, try the United Way. They have a hotline to help match people up with assistance programs.

Finally, talk to your local social services about other programs that might be able to help you.

Some of you people are so mean, why even bother answering these question if you have nothing nice to say!! I work full time, go to school full time and i am a single mom. I never able to make ends meet, and need help. So why is it asking for a hand out??

Ur question is very understandable, but instead of asking people for help, just find urslef a good job, where u will be able to pay all ur bills.
