Why do right wing oligarchists have such a problem making a decision that wont disrupt their hold on power? They are obviously flopping on the ground like a Yellowfin tuna on the deck of a sportfishing boat or better comaprison yet John Kerry on his veiw of the war in Iraq. It should be a law that when the salary of congress goes up so does the minimum wage. Shame on the republicans they are politicaly corrupt liars and cheats.

Whether people like it or not, we need to go ahead with it," said Rep. Mike Castle, R-Del., who supports the idea. "There's a general agreement among Republicans (opposing the raise) that "maybe we don't like it much, but we need to move forward with it just for political reasons."

Hence the 2 party political stranglehold on power and trillions of dollars must be broken. The power and money they yeild belongs to the individual states just as the Constitution dictates. viable 3rd and 4rth parties are desperately needed more now than ever in our history. The writing is on the wall and in the sky. I pray Americans will open their eyes as to the manipulations going on behind the scenes.
Just think of the good we could do within our country with the billions upon billions spent on other nations.

I think that the point being made here is that the republican party is falling apart at the seams not the the min wage will cause problems with the economy. Boy you right wing ratbastards don't have a clue do you. The only things you can say are "Clinton did this, the Dem's are flip floppers without a plan etc." so now that the flopping is on the other side you can only say they are not true conservatives. Get your little pin heads out of rear ends and face reality!

Because those are not true conservatives. They value their office more than what's good for America, which is sad.

Everyone knows that opposing a minimum wage hike, thanks to the efforts of the left, is political suicide. Everyone with a basic understanding of economics also knows that a minimum wage hike does more harm than good. The best thing to do for the economy would be to repeal the minimum wage laws altogether, but you'll never see that happen because almost all of our lawmakers - at both the state and federal levels - are career politicians, and they know they'd be voted out for taking such a step.

Bottom line: They all suck, D's and R's both.

the vast majority of economists, both republican AND democrat, agree that raising the minimum wage actually results in job LOSS.........look it up for yourself. the corolation between wage increases and job losses is indisputable.

and raising minimum wage will raise the cost of goods across the board....it's a domino effect.....think about it.

besides, it's not like the people making minimum wage are the heads of households....these are KIDS at their first job or housewives looking for a little supplemental income. it's a common misconception that this is the sole source of a household's income. nobody supports a family on 5.15/hr because you can get MORE on WELFARE!

Because they aren't conservatives. They are politicans, and therefore suck. And it isn't just Republicans' it's all of them. If we want to fix the world's problems, we should outlaw politicians.
